So, Japan has now hit it's fifth recession in the past fifteen years, or so I found out earlier today.

This is a good thing for us. With business becoming tighter for companies in Japan, they will seek for new profit opportunities across the sea that before they would refuse. The need for profit in a time of recession will force them to open up to trading with foreigners, which will mean an increase in visual novels, games, anime, manga, light novels....ect. being imported to the West.

I'll go get the champagne!

Discuss why you think this is good or bad, or send me some feedback at my blog. http://eldritchblog.blogspot.com/

We still don't know that. Anime, manga, light novels and etc. is already profitable in Japan and as such it may happen and it may not.

But I hope you're right.

HAHAHAHAHA, I hope this is a joke cause that's too funny.

Now for some reality, this occurred because Japan has been in a deflationary state since the 90s (very similar to the United States in the 1930s, which prolonged the depression). Abe (prime minister of Japan) plans to print more money which will inflate their currency making exports MUCH cheaper to purchase from Japan. How will the US react....? Well, they will print more, to make their exports cheaper and then the ECB will print more to make their exports cheaper, and these central banks will continue to out print each other in the name of providing cheaper exports to foreign markets. It's called currency wars, which many economists have predicted will occur, with all the Quantitative Easing that the central banks participate in. A major reason behind oil prices plunging

This is not good for ANYONE. Deflation is the WORSE economic state to be in because it is near impossible to come out of

This is only good for the bankers because the more central banks print, the more free money bankers get, and the more concentrated wealth becomes

this is a link to a documentary that provides a MORE solid understanding of economics. Please take the time to watch it

This is not a good thing, by the way.

The world is in a recession.

Do you have any data indicating that producers and distributors are redirecting their emphases from domestic markets to international ones? Statistically significant increases in the number of distribution licenses, characteristic changes in the subject matter, sales data, marketing budgets, anything like that?

Happened a few days ago. There's still strong correlation to 3/11, but mostly just due to the fact that global economy sucks and other smaller factors.

The United States is still in the crapper 6 years out. I learned about this stuff like a week ago. Don't think for a minute the US is any better off than we were in 2008. And that's not to say that the world economy, like I said, sucks. The only real reason we're not in a depression at this point is because the govt. is too afraid to imprison these obviously corrupt bankheads. If we did this, our economy would quite literally collapse.

"Straw that breaks the camels back".
