LOL oh, please. Corruption is the US's middle name. At least the country blasted out the prime minister for it. In this country, whoever has the money pulls all the strings to make sure the corrupt stay in place. Be thankful the idiot is out of there.

In countries like these, it's either get screwed or be the one doing the screwing.

Is corruption omnipresent? Yes. Is corruption a significant problem no matter where you go? Well, let's turn to the Corruption Perceptions Index, which defines corruption as using public power for private benefit, for the answer to that one:

On that chart a score of 100 is "very clean", while 0 is "highly corrupt". The top ten countries perceived to be the least corrupt are Denmark/New Zealand (91), Finland/Sweden (89), Norway/Singapore (86), Switzerland (85), Netherlands (83), and Australia/Canada (81). Since corruption in the US is a popular topic the United States comes in at 18th with a score of 73.

So yes, there's a lot of corruption out there. In fact, there's corruption everywhere. No one got a 100. But it's a problem of relative significance depending on where you are. Denmark doesn't have much to worry about as far as corruption is concerned (in fact, outside of Iceland that's true for the entire Nordic region), and neither does New Zealand. The US has a serious problem with corruption, but it's not nearly as overwhelming as in those countries listed in yellow, orange, red, or black.
