lol totally agree! but it doesn't matter whether you're drawing or copying, the overall structure of the body has to be done. that's the easiest part. then there's all the details, tones and shading and everything... that's the worst! I have no prob drawing the face, but the hair! the HAIR!!! have you seen ichigo's hair?? that's what i mean! they look so easy, but when you draw it, it's so DAMN hard!!! and i can't draw the shinigami outfit either (damn...) 'cause i haven't got the structure of the body right... ah this sucks... i wish someone can teach me how to draw them...

^Hair? Your worried about the hair? Try drawing Miyako's belt and hands, pfft....HAIR! The shinigami outfits are pretty easy, there just one big robe.......XDXDXD

Well, people have their own waterloos. Hair, in my opinion is very simple because i'm used to drawing it. There are two basic ways, stroke and block. I use the stroke method. I guess what makes hair and clothing, for that matter, hard is that they are both affected by two things: 1) Gravity, and 2) motion.

Clothing gets another difficult addition as it has winkles depending on how it is worn and what material it is made out of. Getting the right amount of wrinkles to bring about your desired texture of clothing is important.

As with hands and belts, you can really only get these down if you understand their 3D structure. It takes a while, but you'll get the hand of it once you've practiced.

As like what MJ said earlier, base lines are very important if you want to get things right, but drawing from "what looks good" is a technique that develops as you continue drawing. Soon, your guidelines begin to decrease, and the amount of base lines you depend on begins to drop. I used to use several lines for the nose and eyes, now, the only line that's left is the line for the eyes. :)

you're question sounds funny. shoujo is not a style of drawing and shonen is not a style of drawing its a genre of manga. so how can one be harder to draw then the other? well i guess if you're asking which manga is harder to make it'd definately be shonen because most of the time it requires drawing many action scenes. action scenes need alot of emotion and poses. shoujo does too but its more soft. i dont know maybe thier the same.

i drew a picture of rukia, but my scanner wont work but here are some pics i drew awhile ago, but i took a picture of them and uploaded them because the scanner wont work. I cant put in the rukia one because now the camara is broke...but on the subject i can draw pretty much any picture i see
-the shading i gotta get right though, its my worst part, but im getting better
- dudes are easier to draw than women for me, because i spent my early days drawing DBZ characters for like 3 years
