Have seen a post similar to this, but would have to necro it, and most of that posts seemed like one massive argument rather than just opinions, so figured i would remake it.

And to clear up confusion, when i say villain, i mean a 100% villain. 95% may work as well, but you get the point.

I am not talking about anti-heroes or people like leluch and sasuke (he isn't dead incase you think im spoiling, its just a psych profile)

OK

so in my opinion, my favorite has to be King Bradley's from FMA:BH

not only was his death animated superbly, but how he died, and the fact that even in death he regretted nothing of his actions, he was true to his intentions and his purpose to the very end.

From Akame ga Kill

I really like broken villains - the kind that resort to evil because they're desperate, depressed, confused, or warped in spirit. Although they generally come across as the most horrible and the most unforgivable, i'm always far more touched by their brokenness than lofty, arrogant villains who just think they're smarter than everyone else, or are just power hungry, or think their ideals are more refined, or just want to watch the world burn. Thus, I tend to prefer the deaths of broken villains to the kind I just mentioned.

I tend to like shows where the line between villain and hero is sort of blurred, so choosing a straight up villain is sort of hard. For example, I wouldn't count Trieze from Gundam Wing as a full on villain, but his is one of my favorite deaths.

Braiking Boss from Casshern Sins.
He was sort of robot Hitler/Stalin and caused most of the crap in the show. I liked his death because he wasn't really repentant, but he sort of sought atonement anyways. He'd sort of made his peace with the consequences of his actions and decisions.

Squealer from Shinsekai Yori. His death was absolutely savage. His death is probably one of the most torturous experiences in anime I have seen thus far (definitely up there with Rainbow, Tokyo Ghoul, EF, Heaven's Feel, Higurashi). Not to mention around this time the reason he did what he did was explained. The fact that his reason almost justifies what he did... It was truly phenomenal. Best show on CR.

Roah's Death from Fist of the North Star.

I've seen plenty of horrible death scenes. Scenes where people failed to win, lost sight of their goals, and got trampled under the heroes foot right before they realize their grand ambition to kill all human.

But not Roah! Roah had one true goal. To conquer the World of the Century's End and challenge heaven with only his Fists.

To this end he vow'ed to never back down. The day he loses is the day he dies.

His final actions and the entire arc about him is a favorite of mine. It manages to give depth and development to a character whose physical presence alone was necessary to signify "Final Boss" status.
I will not go into detail as to how Raoh died or his actions leading to this final confrontation.

Only that he died Regretting none of his actions. All he did he did in pursuit of his goals, and never did he stray from his path.

ALSO, he was a Badass even as a toddler!
His master said "You or your brother! First one to climb to the to of this cliff I threw you off of will become my Disciple! The other will die! The Divine Fist of the North Star may only have 1 Successor!"

And then Roah was all like "Fuck this old ass bitch and this broken ass arm, I'ma climb up there with the broken arm while carrying my poor little brother, I AIN'T NO WEAK ASS BITCH!"\

And he did it.

This might not technically count as the character didn't permanently die but screw it.
