Hey guys!

I'm 20 years old and in college right now...... for all my life i've seen how dating and the social norm is presented to be in our society.

There are a lot of combinations between people since love is all that matters. I believe that anyone can date anyone as long as they love each others personality or appearances.

Even though the possibilities between dating are endless, it still strikes me as curious on the topic of asian males and their dating experiences.

I don't see many asian males in a relationship with non-asian women (for example a hot blonde with a chinese guy).....maybe i just happen to miss out and i'm oblivious to whats going on haha .. but from my perspective I don't see much of it...

I say non-asian because I originally was going to use the term American women or American girls. But then again what is American? I mean we are ALL Americans...so to distinguish my question better i just say "non-asians" (non-asians are any race besides people from asia).

Maybe I just haven't seen it yet, but I wanted to ask you all, if you have seen asian men in a relationship (dating, friends with benefits, hookup) with non-asian women?

if so, how are they doing? Do you know any back story on them?

If you also have not seen asian men together in a relationship with non-asian women like me, then let me ask, is there a reason? (maybe personality difference? appearance preference?)

My cousin is a non-asian female (blond) dating a chinese guy.

As far as I know the family accepts her just fine. Maybe it's a culture thing just like some heavy Christians want there children to marry Christians too if you know what I mean.

I'm not entirely sure what the reason for it is, but it's true. Just drawing from my own relatives and close acquaintances, Asian men do tend to choose to date and ultimately settle down with someone of the same nationality or at least someone from the same continent.

I would also be interested to find out why this is the case. So far, my brother has been the only exception I've found.

We are not all Americans. Some of us live elsewhere in the world. I grew in in the Caribbean and it was not uncommon to see mixed marriages. One of our neighbours a black woman was married to guy of Chinese origin and they had two boys. That wasn't the only mixed marriage of that sort in their family. The other marriage produced two children, a boy and a girl. The boy looked fully black which caused a bit of a confusion when his father bought him a bike and said he'd send the boy to collect it. The shop owner didn't give the bike to the son because he'd expected the son to look exactly like the father. Of course the angry father came back to complain that his son had come home crying without the bike. It was the same in school, a class mate was a result of marriage between a black woman and man of Chinese origin. In some families there's a mix of European, Chinese, Indian and African. Others have Carib/taino (indeginous people of the Caribbean) mixes along side European, African/Indian origins, my family included. The most numerous mix is there is that of African origin and Indian origin. Then there's the black/white mixes. All of this has been going on for centuries.

Where there big Asian communities around? For example, communities that were predominantly Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Filipino, etc?

There's a small Chinese community that's it. No Korean, Japanese nor Filipino. Newer immigrants seem to stick closer together and they come as families. In the past Chinese immigrants were mostly male and sooner or later they'd want girlfriends and wives so they married whoever was around and that was women of Indian origin, African origin. or Carib mixes or European origin or a mix of the lot.

In Hollywood, Asian men aren't seen as manly enough for lead roles. I'm tired of people assuming I have a small penis.

where i live, i've seen several times, a "hot" non-asian woman dating an asian man. a famous example would be Lorde (the musician)... her boyfriend is asian. (i know she's not your definition of hot, but i'm just giving an example)

So yeah, they are out there. the problem with asian men is they tend to be shy and quiet (at least that's the complaints i hear from non-asian women).

so put yourself out there... (easier said than done) and talk to women.

_____

women (most) fall for talkers. omg, this nurse was reading out a text from her cheating ex-husband, "You're the only one i have ever loved, the problem is my love was never as great as yours..." and she was all like... loved up.

they are suckers for cheesy romantic lines. you can never fail with words.

_____

I'm not like that at all. people can be sweet all they want, if they don't walk the talk, words are no good to me.

i'm pretty sure my neighbor, who is Japanese, dated a white girl, though i never met her so idk for sure. i don't know that there was anything particularly special about their relationship other than they liked anime and did cosplay and stuff, but those are just shared interests.

Uhg... Jesus Christ not another one of these stupid threads... This question ranks right up there with "Should a white man be allowed to marry a black woman?" "Should Blacks not be slaves any more?" and "Should Jews be allowed to vote?"... Oi...

Stupid fucking people with archaic, red neck belief systems. You wonder why the world is going down the shitter.

Bruce Lee married Linda Lee Cadwell, a famous example yes? If I remember correctly, Bruce Lee was from Hong Kong.

I think you're still Asian even if you're born in America.
