I don't really know the difference between real figures and bootleg figures.

There is if you are picky. But then again, if you are spending at least $40 a pop, then you're probably better off with something real.

Everything about the box for my figure is fake, but everything about the figure itself tells me it's authentic. Hmm...

And by the way, the difference between bootlegs and authentic is this: bootlegs are painted terribly, they fall apart in two seconds, and the faces are printed wrong. Authentics actually look good.

Also, mine has the original base, so this figure was actually made in 2010. It's not a Re-Run

that bootleg looks completely different. looks like it was painted with different paint, the colors are slightly off, and some of the details are different.

OK OK OK OK OK OK OK! AUTHENTIC FIGURE

Turns out, I got a first run of the figure, which is very rare nowadays. It's from 2008, that's why it's sticky. Also the flaps in 2008-2010 were squares, and the info on the back of the box is supposed to be different. I think I just wasn't used to the old figures, and I wanted to make sure that I had an authentic one. THANKS GUYS!

Sadly, it is a bootleg. I can tell by the circular stand and the slight shine on the skin from the paint job. Although, it is an older nendoroid, so it could POSSIBLY be authentic..but I'm not sure. Hmmm..

If it's a really old Nendroid then it's 100% bootleg if you bought it for a regular price. Some of the old ones are rare as hell and worth loads. Conventions are the worst place to buy Nendroids so many fakes unless there happens to be an official seller there like Good Smile Company who make them. I buy mine from CDJapan they sell them at Japanese prices minus tax so like 4500yen on average so even including shipping it's cheaper than buying from a lot of import stores and conventions and you can be sure it's 100% the official product since Neowing the company who runs cdjapan is a reputable stockist of anime merch.

I'm sorry to bump an old thread, but I have a similar problem as OP. I just ordered this Miku nendo online, and here are the photos the seller sent me. Do you guys think it's real or a bootleg?
