I just watched this on a 37" screen HDMI through my PS3, and it's passable for blu-ray quality. Right from the OP, you could see how much money they'd spent ensuring the animation quality.

At the moment, looking like the best show of the season by a country mile.

Totally 100% on point. Not disappointing in the least. Even in a strong season (which this fall most certainly isn't) this would be a stand out first episode. I'm super eager to see how things develop but even one episode in I'm caught hook line and sinker.

Heck, even the OP and ED are great.

Ditto.

I was a bit worried my Thursdays would be anime-less this season but this series has peaked my interest.

Damn. As someone who has a new media com degree, who is a computer geek and who also studied briefly both psychology and sociology (I bet y'all never would have guessed that much) this first episode was on point. From the OP to the ED and everything in between I was hooked.

I could watch that OP over and over again.

My only complaint was it was a tad bit slow and some of the dialogue was pretentious, but I think it was supposed to be as such judging by these characters.

Kudos to a cool new IP that I knew nothing about.

I'll still probably like my ecchi and rom/com fair a bit more this season, but this one seems like a nice breather from those.

I love this type of show with its exploring deep themes and what not. Also didn't have any fan service. Kinda sad I haven't seen much advertising for this, only way I knew it was from my YT feed and a reviewer on it.

I quite enjoyed this. They also set it up quite nicely to get us interested in what's coming up.

Insta-fave on the OP and the ED animations. Nice rotoscoping effect on the OP (certainly preferable to whatever it was that Kowabon was doing). If I had a top ten favourite OP and ED list these should be on it.

I like all the characters as introduced. Despite her colour scheme (ugh), Nishinosono is utterly adorable (her "jealous" moments... aawwww!).

Show looks great and I love the work on the sound effects and direction.

Not exactly sure yet where this is going, but I'm definitely on board.

So far I've enjoyed. It is the most cerebral anime I've seen this season.

Moe certainly was moe.

Echoing what others said. Intro is delicious. Dem credit songs.

Joining the chorus of agreement Nailed it.

Disappointed the mystery promised in the synopsis wasn't introduced. This episode felt like a prologue that introduced the characters through dialogue.

Liked the cinematic feel and naturalistic interaction between the characters, though Moe's frustrations with getting sempai to notice her is pretty mediocre fodder for conversation. Why can't anime characters ever be in an actual relationship when the story begins... and ends lol

For some reason I just lol'd at the "MOE" nameplate.

Also when Moe said Shiki Magata looks unearthly beautiful. I dunno, she looks like an unkempt crazy person to me...

Really curious about everything as a whole so far.

The references to science and computers/programming is giving me hope for the story. Really curious about this "doll" that killed Dr. Magata's parents. Does this mean supernatural/horror elements? Is Dr. Magata an AI or something? Is anything real? Lots of speculation going off the OP, ED and first episode. Very intrigued.

This show has so much potential! With all the cliche and tropey anime this season, this show has already taken my #1 spot.
