Bonjour! Hello!

My name is Skyler and I'm a French-Canadian with no experience in the Japanese language. I always putt off learning this language but seeing this group sorta game me some motivation? It was always something I was tempted into learning. I would love to broaden my access to the Japanese world but I'm currently restricted to material that is translated to French or English. On that topic, English is my second language and while I understand it I'm... Not exactly proficient with it. Being bilingual can be a pain sometimes :sweatingbullets:

Regardless I will try my best. I figure speaking to enthusiasts would be a good way to figure out how to start my approach to learning the language. I'll likely be coming here asking questions often.

As for my love for anime... Can't say I'm a huge fan of SAO or AOT like the rest of you. I'm more of a fan of seinen work? Slice of life, serious romance, mysteries and fast-pace comedies are more my thing. I adore the mecha genre but there just so few of it these days. The shounen genre really irks me but that's a whole different story.

As for other hobbies I adore mall shopping, graphic design and tabletop gaming. Sorta of a weird trio but I really love social activities and I like to go out often to meet people.

So that was that but hope to learn a bit here and meet some friendly people!

Hello Skyler, a pleasure to meet you! It's a wonderful thing, seeing so many new members join us. I hope we can be of help to your desire to learn Japanese language As long as we don't start flame wars about taste in anime I think we'll get along

Don't be afraid to ask questions - there are a couple of threads where you can do so and there'll hopefully be someone to answer you. You can also ask me or Ichibanx3-sensei directly if it's something big, like, I don't know, the End of Days of something like that

See you later, and Merry Christmas to you!

Hiiii Skyler-san! Thanks for joining my club! I really hope you can find some Japanese books translated into French, but your English is really good! And I really like any genre...seinen is good, and I also love live of life, it's one of my favorite genres! I also like anything "deep" that makes you think, like Death Note or Night Raid 1939 (which I finished watching yesterday--it was a really good anime)!

If you like comedy and slice of life, you should check out the manga "Yotsuba &" or in Japanese "Yotsubato". It's a really cute manga story, I have all of the books!

And if you like mecha and comedy you should check out Fooly Cooly. Even though it's an old anime, it's really funny and I love the ending song and video! That show machismo want to drive around in a yellow Vespa

The one Seinen manga I'm reading at the moment is Gantz, but I really would't recommend it. It's so gory and violent, but it's a good story nevertheless. The best serous romance I've read was Vampire Knight--i still need to read the final book though

Anyway, thanks for joining my group once again

こんにちわ、私はジョイーです。アニメがすきですよ。大学生です。一ねんせいです。専攻はビジネスです。よろしくおねがいします!

Try to for give my bad Japanese, I've only been studying for a semester or so. It's also quite a pain to try to type on this Japanese keyboard from Windows. I have no idea how to type katakana, so I had to do my best to find ways around it. I just basically stated random facts about myself, since that is pretty much the best I've got in regards to describing myself, but if you want me to describe the weather I did learn how to do that!

こちらこそよろしく、新人さぁ~ん。これから協力しましょうよぉ~!

It's not "bad" Japanese; all your sentences are correct, maybe just a bit short. Anyway, great to have you with us As for the Japanese keyboard, which version of Windows are you using? I believe there was an option to select katakana in the language panel in the taskbar on Windows 7. If it's Win8, then you first need to type whatever you need in hiragana, then press spacebar and select the version you want from the list.

では、また会いましょう

こちらこそよろしく、ヂットさん。うちのグループへようこそ!

Nice to meet you, Dittoさん. Welcome to our group!

I have said that countless amount of times already but it's fantastic to see new members join us Oh, and please do not get discouraged by the temporary lack of activity - our 先生 is taking a short break so as to recover from a tooth surgery and as for myself, I'm having exams in two weeks' time so I'm either actually studying or being stressed about it and can't bring myself to post anything here for now as a result

Of course, if there are any questions you'd like to ask, then I'm at your service.

また会いましょう
