Lot's of 80's, Ozzy, Megadeth, Def Leppard, Rush, Slayer, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, list can go on for a while. Also like Metalcore, Death metal, and hardcore. Stuff like Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Anthrax, Murderdolls, Mushroomhead, uhhh Arch Enemy, As I lay Dying, Mastodon. I'll be here for a while if I'm gonna list them all.

I like your style sir. I like Van Halen too but I hate their lyrics. XD so generic.

Nightwish (only the old stuff before singer changed), Manowar, Hammerfall, Rhapsody of Fire, Edguy, those are some of my picks. Oh and if your a fan of Maiden you gotta make sure you don't miss Helloween. Oh, and Savatage.

Just wondering if there are any fellow metalheads on CR. I mean people who listen to stuff like Iron Maiden, In Flames, Judas Priest, Stratovarius, Cynic, etc. I am not the biggest metalhead around, but I think it would be fun to know someone who is more of a veteran than I, and can give me recommendations. :D

Maiden, Priest, and Strato are great bands; So many to recommend but here are a few to get you started
King Diamond, Metallica, Megadeth, Cacophony, Animals As Leaders, Thin LIzzy, Anthrax, Hirax, Death, Helstar, Burzum, Mercyful Fate, Yngwie Malmsteen, Metal Church,Testament, Immortal, Judas Iscariot, Agent Steel, Black Sabbath, Sabbat(jap), Deep Purple, Evildead, Forbidden, Helloween, Slayer, Racer X, Motley Crue, Scorpions, Rush, ....

I LOVE Anthrax and Megadeth. AND ANIMALS AS LEADERS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE BANDS. :p Motley Crue as well, and I'm starting to get into rush :P. Death isn't really my thing since Honestly I can''t listen to death metal it really doesn't appeal to me much, unless it's mixed in with thrash or another genre (like Skeletonwitch for instance or Hail Spirit Noir). I've tried getting into Helloween but I can't get past their single "I want out". I'm gonna try again with that though. I also like Scorpions a bit cause of my father. XD

Death's first two albums pioneered the death sub-genre that incorporated more of a thrash style with darker, harsh vocals; give Leprosy a listen. Helloween's best album imo is their first album which is more speedmetal style, before they changed their sound and started playing power-metal.

I shall do that. and I know but death metal just sounds too raw for me for some reason. I've heard of leprosy. I'll try the album sometime.

Yes! I like the 70s-80s bands. Priest, W.A.S.P., Metallica, Megadeth, Maiden, Dio, Ozzy...all that good stuff! I just recently got a bunch of weird unknown 80s European metal albums on vinyl at a pawn shop! Stuff like Scanvenger, Diamond Rexx, Sinner...all this stuff I never heard of. Their actually reissuing a lot of metal records on vinyl now! I just got all of Metallica's reissues up to The Black Album and I'm buying all of Maiden's that I don't have as they come out. I really hope they reissue Megadeth's catalog soon. I have the Capital reissues of Peace Sells and Rust In Peace but I really want Countdown and Youthanasia on vinyl!

Yeah, Judas Priest is decent. Megadeath and Anthrax are ok, but I really prefer bands like Slayer, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Cannibal Corpse. I also listen to some older Linkin Park, though I don't consider that metal.

Assembling a music collection is very fun. Going to Pawn Shops and Thrift Stores all the time to see what gems pop up...it feels awesome when you finally find good stuff! The best find I got at a Thrift Store was a near mint copy of The Number of the Beast on vinyl for $3! That was a huge score since original copies of Maiden records rarely pop up! Original pressings of metal albums are very hard to find on vinyl, that's the stuff people don't want to get rid of! Thankful as I said there are lots of reissues being put out now that vinyl is getting really popular again.

Very interesting information to know. I don't collect vinyls though as I have no need to. Well to me anyways. XD

I'm not that big into a metal, but my hometown had a pretty dedicated punk/hardcore scene that I used to frequent.

I like pretty much everything. I guess it just depends on how heavy it is?

Cuz if it's like RARWRAWRRARW!! Then that's a little too heavy.
