Thanks for not exploding in a huge pile of nerd rage (props for not falling into the same trappings as many a forum poster)

Nothing to thank for, I do believe that we should all be mature enough to treat each other respectfully even when we tend to disagree.

I guess we can just agree to disagree here. You see something in these scenes that I don't, you interpret them as something I fail to see and that is fine. Again, my major problem with this release is not the original nature of the show but that I find it to have very obvious flaws, which I think should be fixed when they rerelease it especially considering the money that they made with this franchise. To me this just seems to be a simple "get money for doing nothing" strategy, which I personally do not like. If you rerelease something you should try to make it better in order to encourage me to buy it. But again, if you like it the best the way it is, I won't spoil the fun for you.

Though i understand it's not for everybody those scene offer something you just don't see out of a lot of shows; enjoy the rebuilds though as they seem to be the alternative you seem to want; newer animation (though i dislike their usage of CG whereas the original used hand-drawn), more action and movement in the scenes, less awkward elevators, what's more to want! =D

I guess I have to clear this up as well I am not a big fan of the rebuild movies, but I do appreciate what they did with them. It seems like there was a lot of money and effort put into them so I am inclined to spent my hard earned money on them. This on the other hand just seems to me like a lazy way to make money (therefore: polishing a turd). I actually own half of the original series on VHS (remember when that used to be a thing), not that I can watch it anymore, because I don't actually own a VCR, looks nice on the shelf though. Anyway, getting off topic here. Point is, I want to spend money on stuff where I think whoever I am giving it to actually deserves that money. That isn't the case here.

I really hope it comes to the US. I have the Platinum Collection, but to have a Blu-Ray collection of all the episodes is something I have been wanting for a while. I don't wanna have to import, as I am sure we have all seen how expensive Japanese Blu-Rays are for complete anime series.

Might consider it if it ever gets to uk. Hope they do it broadcast and directors version. Also wonder if they'll throw in the alternative movies too.
Would make it a huge evangelion set aside Rebuild.
Have to wait & see.

This is very exciting. I would love to see this in the States for the quality as well for Death/Rebirth and the End of Evangelion (which I had to get bootlegged and out of region on DVD). Of course, I am still waiting for the 3.33 release from Funimation...some day.

I went ahead and put my pre-order in at Amazon JP. The release date gives me more than enough time to set the money aside for it. And while subs would be pretty awesome, I can live without them as I've seen the show plenty of times to get it. I can't wait to see packaging, extras, etc. for this.

how disappointing that this BD Box doesn't include subs. Ah well, might order it anyway just for the sake of having it. Like I did with Penguindrum, Higurashi, Madoka, and Parasyte.
