Has anyone suggested carrying import Japanese PS4, PS3, and Vita games on the store?

It's a licensing nightmare. :x The only case I've seen where a Japanese game got any sort of release stateside was JUMP Superstar.

What games are you thinking of?

Oh I see, well there's a few games coming out in February, God Eater 2 Rage Burst and Dragon Quest Heroes

So if the store ships from Japan to the US there's no issue but if you want to carry the item in the US for sale that's when licensing comes into affect?

Companies in the business usually try to keep the different regional markets apart, as the pricing and margins are different for each. Also they lose track of how many copies exactly were sold in a particular region, if they support game export to another region. (They usually have a subsidiary company in each region that governs all sales and availability independently.)
That's why for many Japanese games you will not be able to find a fully Japan-based retailer that will readily ship games abroad. Shops offering the export of the Asian versions are usually based in Hong Kong or the likes, and rather shady.
Getting Japan imports onto the CR store is therefore probably rather unlikely, as it would require the local subsidiary to OK the import and sale of copies associated with another region.

That's a gray zone. They can't technically do it but there's no way to monitor it. Crunchyroll Store strives to find legal options for all merch, so I can't really deal in that market. :/

I personally buy Asian Versions because they always come with English instructions if I don't feel like reading Japanese. But I usually travel to Hong Kong for family and pick up 2 years worth of games then.

=_= God Eater 2 Rage Burst looks so good....

Thanks for answering, I was just curious since I didn't need any figures and wasn't able to make use of the discount at the store. Thought about what I would buy, game soundtracks and games came to mind.

Ooh nice, I used to get Asian Versions when I shopped at PlayAsia, I always said why pay more for the Japanese version. That's awesome, I had a friend that talked about going to Hong Kong and shopping but 2 years of games is huge, what do you use to carry all that stuff?

Yep that and Dragon Quest Heroes will be my top two PS4 games next year. I'm looking forward to continuing the God Eater 2 story also

There's a company called ncsx that's out of New York, they've been around for a long time though

Importing games and re-selling them is different from becoming an official retailer sanctioned by the maker.
