What anime, if any, have you introduced to your kids?

For me, my kids have seen the following shows (or part of them): Doraemon, Pokemon, Digimon, Poyopoyo, and Chi's Sweet Home

Movies: Ponyo

I'm planning to watch The Secret World of Ariety with my kids soon, too. Hopefully they like it. My 5 year old did not like Ponyo, but my 3 year old loved it.

And my kids love Chi, Poyopoyo, and my 5 year old son loves Doraemon. They go through points where they alternately love and don't care about Pokemon/Digimon.

How about you? What have you introduced your kids to? And why?

The first anime I picked up specifically to watch with my girls was A Little Snow Fairy Sugar. It has a ridiculously catchy theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJM9i_r-RIQ

It was a cute shoujo show, no violence, nothing objectionable...and yet somehow I managed to enjoy it, too.

No violence, nothing objectionable? Sounds good for small kids - of which I have 4.

I'll have to check into that theme song

Wow! He's getting big. My twins were 5 months old as of yesterday. Time just keeps on flying by!

Also, 11 month old - there's some anime he can watch, I'm sure

Mine love Pokemon too :)

But I would strongly recommend Panda! Go Panda! too. They're so hilarious and cute, both kids love them (great music as well)

It's quite hard to know what's safe for them at their age without watching it first.

It's so true. I never know what's going to be good for them! I was watching Poyopoyo with them when suddenly it jumped into cats humping. Mind you, it was for like 10 seconds, but still - not really something I wanted my kids seeing. Even something as seemingly innocuous as that has stuff in it.

Never head of Panda! Go Panda! What's it about? I'll have to check the link!

I've watched all of Dragonball Kai with my daughter as well as Digimon. The wife has been watching Pokemon and sailor moon with her as well.... not sure she knows that anime is really a thing though, pretty sure it's just more shows for her.

Yea. I think that's the way my kids are with Doraemon & Chi's Sweet Home. With Doraemon, it's on Disney XD and in English, so it's just another show they seem to like. For Chi's Sweet Home, it's in Japanese, so it's different - they enjoy it, but they can't read - so it's more enjoying watching the kitty be silly.

I get that.

Right now my boy (4yo) is hooked on "Folktales of Japan". We watch an episode every night before bed (with me reading the subtitles).

After 3 days, he comes up to me and says:

"I want to learn Japanese."

"Um,... that sure would be awesome! Maybe when you're older..."
LOL!

Of topic, but I've been wanting to myself for awhile so I can multitask in the evenings. Has anyone used a course that would work for kids and adults?
