For the fellow free members actual Crunchyroll Gift Cards would be a WIN - WIN situation and a VERY smart move.
Becoming a premium member can become difficult when it comes to online shopping because:
-Below 18yrs old/ Not Allowed
-No access to credit card/Pay Pal
-Lazy
etc.
So why not make actual gift cards- I would love to pick up card down the road or back from high school.
I'm sure the sales would sky rocket as well.
You're move Crunchyroll!

Hmm.. Considering it took me so long to get a bank account, I can understand what you are talking about.. There would probably be a lot more young teenagers with accounts if this was offered.. All in all though, it is kind of one of those "iffy" things. I think it wouldn't be a bad addition sometime down the road, but I don't really see it as high priority at this point. Would be cool if they made the cards usable in the crunchyroll market too.

Personally I would LOVE to see this happen. Curious as to why Crunchyroll hasn't done this yet. There are probably still some problems with this idea we have no knowledge of rn, but this is a good idea in my opinion.

personally find it creepy that someone from my exact suburb is on Crunchyroll.

btw, if CR makes a gift card, i'm 100% sure they won't physically distribute it in Sydney. so your efforts are kind of futile seeing as you're from Australia... (being a realist). they can't even get a PS3/4 app for Australia...

The problem with the PlayStation app isn't CR, it's Sony. CR made a deal with SCEA that allows them to publish content in the american PSN, Australia and European PSN is hosted by SCEE and they're known for giving a fat middle finger to other companies that may or may not have a similar product as they do... What do I mean by that? Well, Sony owns a anime streaming platform in some European countries called Animax and Sony Europe probably see Crunchyr as potential competition and thus they don't want to allow them into the European network.

Anyhow, you can bypass this easily. Just make a US PSN account on your PS4/PS4 and then set those account to your primary account on your console and then download from the US store. You'll then be avail to use the CR app on your EU/AU PSN account.

well sony can go .... themselves.

on PS4, they are renting anime $3.99 per episode... what kind of robbery? I can watch the whole season for free on a legal website... why would i pay that amount?

I wasn't talking about Video unlimited. I was talking about Animax, here's the link to their site http://www.animaxtv.com/.

Anyhow, I agree with you. Sony Europe and SCEE isn't the brightest parts of Sony. But why get mad over spilled water when there's a simple fix, there's tons of totoriels out there on how to make a US PSN account. It's not against their policy to have more then one account nor lie to them about your location.

Since when can you not access Pay Pal? You don't need a credit card to have a Pay Pal and there are ways to earn money online.

At first I thought you meant that you found CR gift cards and I was like, "What? When did they start doing that?" But now I see that I assumed wrong lol

Anyways, I think that it would be a good idea.

Even Burger King have it, then why CR does not?.
The main problem here would be Crunchyroll Sub-contracting /worksharing with other company dedicated with gift codes and with the recent close of many payment options in Crunchyroll... its not a bright future let say... it's a matter of time.
