My family just got rid of cable to rely on internet, and I imagine when I move out I wouldn't even rely on cable, so that wouldn't benefit me.

It might be cool if it did; perhaps they'd reel more people in.

Nah son, if Crunchyroll was 'exclusive' to a specific cable network I would be pissed. I already have comcast but if CR went offline and into TV for Dish (example) I'm not gonna switch from Comcast to Dish for 1 channel, it's fine where it is. And even if it wasn't exclusive I never watch TV, save for anime, EX: CR app on Xbox
And if, somehow, it were to happen I'll just torrent it or some shit.

I think people here are under the assumption that TV channel = no web streaming when in actuality with current TV channels the opposite is happening. I just watched Comedy Bang! Bang! on the IFC website. True, it required my Cablevision password, but almost every channel has one of these.

And with CBS now and HBO in 2015 headed into the online world with subscriptions for non-cable subscribers, the entire TV landscape is changing.

That said, what I originally said on page 1 still holds true and I don't think it would be worth it for CR to try to become a cable channel.

the basket has enough means at the moment but having a TV channel is a good idea to add to the list. people on cr might not watch it but there are plenty who would outside of cr website. the number of tv channels have been increasing lately imo..especially in developing countries.

Simple answer is no. TV is slowly dying and streaming websites like Netflix, CR...etc are the future. Even HBO will start offering content online; previously you needed to have cable/satellite but you no longer need that. The future/present is online streaming of content and TV channels are slowly but surely facing a slow death.

TV Business is pretty complicated, not to mention that this is America we're living in.

You can't expect people to just play subs for adults and dubs for the kids.
It's all the same ages that watches anime.

if its completely free or only to premium member i think that would be cool. be alot easier to get tv signal when wifi is not available plus they have enough series to have a premiere channel. but its impossible mainly cuz of cost and rights that cr does not have to do this.

A year after becoming a television/cable channel we can look forward to it showing COPS and American Ninja Warrior reruns 24/7.

I like the idea of having Crunchyroll having an official channel. It could work out for those anime lovers that don't have access to the net and broaden their horizons, but it's not something I would use since I love to watch my favorite anime at my pace.
