I'm also having this issue. PS4 and Roku are a no-go. The site itself seems to be alright for now.

I haven't been able to get the Roku app to connect today (12/6) either. Speedtest.net tells me I'm doing ~85Mbps down and ~20Mbps up at the moment and Netflix and Funi are both streaming fine. The Crunchyroll web site is flaky as well, I keep getting 'Could not connect' errors. I hope this clears up soon, I was planning to catch up on a bunch of shows this weekend.

Our services are currently undergoing maintenance. This also affects access in some of the apps.
Currently I'm unable to give you an ETA, but our engineers are working on it and it will hopefully be resolved soon.

Accessing the site itself has been hit or miss all day today for me. I had no problem earlier viewing an episode on my Roku, however, trying again just now seemed to be as problematic as the website, at least until I was able to start the video.

I would expect that since the app would need to access the website for certain information (queue, list of episodes, current position for an episode, and possibly even the code that is accessed when the app gives a "Loading..." screen).

Was this scheduled maintenance or "uh oh" maintenance?

Hoping it gets sorted out soon.

I can't use the web player or the PS3 app. The PS3 app either doesn't connect or spits out an error and the web player halts about every 2.5 minutes and won't restart until I reload the page.

Frustrating.

Given the number of popular simulcasts that premiere on Saturday, I'm betting the latter.

The website was very bad on monday and sent tickets in. And actually from the week before also the website was crashing my browser.

It almost acted like a takeover a ticket was sent in for that too!

BTW there has been problems for a good year and a half at least . We were promised a new player or fix but i guess that is gone too!

Maybe if they actually looked into problems instead of the usual it on your end it wouldnt to br a totla shutdown IMO

The problems that I have recently experienced with Crunchyroll started out as infrequesnt video hang-ups about 6-9 months ago and have progressively gotten worse.

Reminds me of the issues that Funimation had experienced a couple years back. Funi has since fixed their issues and I have not experienced any streaming or connections issues, while accessing their website, for at least the past year.

Crunchy, why don't you start a ticket with Funi technical support? Maybe they can get your website working properly for you.

P.S. And yes Crunchy, we are getting tired of you trying to excuse the issue as being on our end.

Roku is still off... I haven't tried my PS4 yet if it weren't working I'd be annoyed and would rather avoid feeling like that.

I did get 1 anime on the Roku after trying to connect 10 times and the subs were in spanish so I gave up last night. Today though the website isn't showing my complete order history with all the stuff I've ordered in November/December.

I wonder if this is another outbreak of "We have a vision of how things can be better!"?

I too have had problems connecting to cr via rroku. Last couple days it would kick me back to the home screen or load but not let me actually play shows. Today, however the anime is freezing. I have reset rroku/restarted the app - sometimes that does nothing, sometimes it advances a few seconds and sometimes it freezes entirely

On my end, things are largely the same. Started out with an unable to load any videos or content on the PS3 app. Escalated from there to unable to access the app at all. Then it started to log me out of the PS network and I couldn't access anything if I tried the CR app. Today I can at least start some shows but, yeah, getting hiccups every couple of minutes, like the episodes aren't done buffering. Internet connection is fine. The site on my computer is slower than molasses but everything is loading and I watched a few episodes yesterday without issues (except for being abnormally slow). I'm remaining patient but still hoping for a fix soon.

This issue has been going on for a couple weeks now for me. I can get to the app and click on an episode but then it never loads, just black...this is happening with Roku3, PS4 and Samsung TV apps. Laptops and PCs work fine. CrunchyRoll have you changed something for device streamers?

This is ridiculous, if this isn't fixed by next week my subscription will be stopped ASAP.

*****Update******

I was able to find two shows that would stream on my devices, Akame ga Kill! and Sailor Moon. All the other shows I tried would not load, black screen then bring up an error, "There are issues connecting to the stream."

-I have uninstalled my Crunchy Roll app on Samsung TV, Roku3 and PS4, then reinstalled but no difference.
-All other Apps like Netflix, Amazon, Youtube, etc... still work and stream fine.
-All CR shows stream fine when on PC or laptop.

These test tell me that there is nothing wrong with my ISP connection and the big one being I can stream Akame ga Kill! and Sailor Moon from CR's device streaming server but not the other shows. Crunchyroll, has a server side setting been changed on your device streaming server for all the other shows that won't play?

Seems like you are affected by the ongoing partial outage of TWC's DNS service.

A complicating factor, with Roku boxes, is the inability to directly change the DNS settings.

You would have to specify different DNS settings on your actual router which, if you use multiple devices, may actually be easier than setting them one-by-one. But may not be ideal for just one device.

If you find you need to give a Roku box its own DNS settings for whatever reason, and have a bit of cash to spare, getting a small USB-powered travel wireless router. This also has the advantage of making your Roku box portable, as you can bring it around to other places and not have to reconfigure your Roku's settings. Just plug the router in and go.

Neither router-based option is likely to be ideal for everyone. But it is a way of bypassing ISP-related faults.
