Yeah, in the world of geeks, furries are the bottom of the totem pole, but you know what? I'm pretty sure anime fans are only one notch up on that totem pole.

Heh, Cloppers are at the bottom of the totem pole

What are cloppers?

I like to think that anime fans and furries or bronies or whatever can get along. We all belong to a different fandom but we all, sometimes, hide our fandom from the public for being judged. I'm friends with some bronies and furries but they don't like anime but I don't like MLP or furry stuff but we get along.
Us weirdos gotta stick together, though that's the way I look it.

oh I'm sure.. primarily for the aforementioned waifus, loli, boy love, etc.

which is again, to me, fucking weird in that sort of "internet leaking" sort of way. Like the difference between reality and fantasy is just overly blurred. I could imagine daydreaming perhaps, that I'd like a woman like Rin Tohsaka as my girlfriend (just watching UBW on the other screen), for a moment, or maybe saying such, but then to take it to the Nth degree with the waifu stuff?

And lolicon? yeah...definitely puts you on the party van's "invite next time" list.

boy's love/yuri? I don't get either honestly. Yuri: If I wanted lesbian porn, I'd watch porn. Boy's Love? What the hell????? I mean why are female fans so into this? and why is it such a big deal who penetrates who? And why all the sadomasochistic/bondage overtones!?!?!?!?!?!

and yes.. furries.. On the one hand, ppeople who like anthropomorphized animal characters and that's it. Weird enough, but whatever makes you happy.. On the other end of the spectrum:

This makes me sick, it's disturbing that people will go to such lengths to hurt others for what they like. So what if someone likes furries, mlp, doctorwho, homestuck, sherlock, TGOT(the game of thrones), supernatural, creepypasta, waifus, loli, yaoi, yuri, ect.... What is so wrong with someone for enjoying something else? That's sure as hell not going to stop me from being their friend. I'm pretty neutral to all fandoms and stuff involving the anime community, I don't really like or dislike a lot. I understand getting mad if someone tries to force their opinions on you but there are always people like that in every group, big deal. Grow up. I'm 19 and the people in this world make me want to break away from society and make me live in a forest. When I was in middle school everyone was undoubtably nicer compared to now...

Sorry about my rant, this just really frustrated me. ):

As much as furries are quite odd to me, not disgusting or weird, just odd.. I don't think anybody should be punished like this for something they find suitable. It's like poisoning every piece of food at a football or baseball game just to get at everybody. Makes no sense why people gotta be so cruel when we all do the same thing with all of our stuff..

I've never understood the furries and I probably never will, but I just live and let live as it's their free choice as to what they like and don't like. I find it horrendous that someone would go to such lengths just because they don't a certain thing. This world makes me very sad at times

I've met a number of furries though the sci-fi convention circuit. Like most groups, once you've spent enough time around them, they stop seeming strange.

This was, quite simply, a terrorist attack. The media focus on the Furry aspect seems to be designed to trivialize that fact by alienating their audience from the victims. In my own mind, this story certainly does not seem to be receiving suitably serious reporting.

It is a terrorist attack, yeah. And it is for the best that it isn't being widely reported. The conversation would just turn to the furry community and criticism and scrutiny against them. And then you'd have religious nuts and pastors chiming in, saying ignorant and hateful stuff.

I would consider myself a partial or full member of many different communities, some of which contain members that probably hate each other lol.

Also I'm a "religious nutjob" as it was so eloquently worded early. I have no problems getting along with my fellow man. Next time maybe try to word this as "religious extremest" as it would be more accurate since not all religious individuals hate and are nutjobs. Heck I'm even a conservative Christian and don't hate.
