NOTE: This will only work for some of you, there are also a few other causes to the choppy playback. Sorry if this doesn't fix your problem.

I believe I may have found something causing the Choppy playback everyone has been having lately. This is how I fixed it for me. What I did was change my DNS to Google's public DNS and it seemed to solve all of my problems.

I use IPv4, but it should work with IPv6 also.

Unfortunately, it's not a guaranteed solution, and hasn't worked for a few of the users I've recommended it to in the past.

EDIT: Not that it isn't a good suggestion for the people it does work for, though.

yeah, I'm aware its just s stop-gap, and the underlying issue is how the CDNs facilitate rtmpe data to the players, but without breaking out a whiteboard, this is a good step for users.

I just tried putting Norton in Sleep mode and now the choppy playback is MUCH worse. -_- Seriously, the app is screwed up on PS3 and now this choppy playback crap I have to put up with is ridiculous. On the other hand, no problem with Funimation. Someone give me one good reason why I should keep using CR.

Yeah? Well that lucky charm just fixed the crap service I THOUGHT I was getting. Used to have problems playing any video, just tried this fix and opened up four 1080p streams without a single hiccup. Previously a 25 minute video sometimes took an hour to watch at 1080p, with more than sufficient bandwidth to support multiple 1080p streams.

It technically shouldn't work, but its working for some people including me that's why I made this thread. It's quite funny, glad it worked for you!

(I use Linux and AT&T internet and) this fix solved all my problems. Granted, I only changed the DNS a couple hours ago and problems could arise later, but thanks fuzzy. I can finally get back to watching Gintama.
