I suggest we ban all books out of respect for illiterate people. We should be considerate about their feelings.

This is a joke, really. The people behind this aren't seriously petitioning for this. It is a satirical thing.

Sickening. Christianity is so misrepresented in the Western World. Instead of taking liberals word for it you should read the Bible for yourself (Preferably an Eastern Orthodox one). Anyway for all those who say Christianity is oppressive, the Atheist Soviet Union was the most oppressive brutal government in Existence.

Well said, although a KJV or NIV bible would work just as well is my bet. Most translations are pretty close to one another and it's the Pastors/Priests that misinterpret them differently.

I agree, a lot of people are overly hard against Christianity. A lot of atheists are rabble rousers who like to stir up conflict and disharmony. On the other hand, a lot of Christians do bother me. There are a lot of Christians I don't like. I don't know what it is like in other parts of the world, but here in America, I see a lot of terrible and ignorant things coming from certain Christians, and I can see why anti-Christian sentiments are on the rise. Lots of Christians are good and are great people. But also, lots of Christians aren't too good or are just straight up bad, and a lot of these said Christians point the finger every which way, and judge and condemn others freely. We're told as Christians to try not to judge others, but some Christians excessively judge and condemn whoever they personally don't like.

To be fair, dictatorships are rarely benevolent whether religion is involved or not.
As for sexism, women are not allowed to become priests and it is litered with sexist passages.

Timothy 2:12 in which the saint says: "I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, she must be silent."

Ephesians 5:22, "Wives, submit to you husbands as to the Lord"

But again the point is satirical. The hypocrisy and in this case the out right misrepresentation used in justify this censorship.

Picture books, man. Like my idea for a newspaper just for illiterate people. All pictures. No words.

Hey. The main, big, Buddha was a guy. We should ban Buddhism too.

If you are talking about the Buddha being fat...that isn't actually how the historical Buddha was. He was lean all his life, right up to the age of 80 when he died. That the Buddha was overweight is a popular misconception.

What I read is that there was a Chinese monk named Ho'tei. He was a very happy and content person. A big, full belly in Chinese art was symbolic of being satisfied and fulfilled in life (or something like that), so depictions of Ho'tei started emerging depicting him as a pretty big guy (a fat guy). He was stocky in real life, so the art took that idea and just played upon it. He is also known as "Happy Ho'tei". Anyway, the big round Buddha is actually art/sculptures/figurines/statues of that guy. Maybe (I'm just saying maybe) somewhere down the line this ended up becoming a popular way to portray the Buddha (as a jovial, overweight person).

But yeah, the Buddha in real life was never overweight.

Er....no. When I said big, I just meant that figuratively. The Buddha who came first, who everyone thinks of when they say Buddha. I also read that article too. Was that cracked?

How did this become about feminazis? I assumed that this was a joke parodying the feminazis who hate us and tried to take GTA 5 off the shelf.

It is a satire (I guess it could be considered a joke depending on if you consider satire a joke) of Feminazis (A.K.A. Radical feminists) as they are called on the internet.

So the bible is about 3500 years old (according to google searches)

So if they wanted to ban it, they're kind of late.
