I personally request no ham. (though ham is traditional for easter)

we;ve done turkey in the past, as well as ham, but lately I've been able to convince them of other meats. Once it was prime rib, another time it was lamb, this year it will be duck. Seafood's expensive.

Since the ducks were going to be for new year's, (but are now not) maybe since its a smaller gathering I'll do salmon then,.

Mostly sugary things, and pastries. There might be some roast, and potatoes, but I have my eyes on the cakes and candy.

We used to turkey and ham when I was a kid but that was when we lived in North Dakota around the all the relatives. Now we do what ever is handy. If we do a ham it's usually a cheap one from Safeway or Winco... 99 cent-a-pound. They're usually pretty good. Once we ended up getting a New York strip roast, cooked it like a prime rib, IT WAS AWESOME. It looks like we'll be doing a prime rib on Christmas and ham one the other days. It's getting so you can only buy a whole or half ham so you're looking at ten or so pounds of meat and lots of ham for breakfast and lunch and dinner.

Mom will still make a punkin pie and maybe a pecan pie most of the time but we have had chocolate moose and various cookies. Ma makes the best sugar cookies out of a little flour, a lot of sugar and too much butter.

Various seafood and roast pork for lunch. Long nap in the afternoon and whatever is left over for dinner. Not to mention the constant snacking of chocolate throughout the day.
