Okay, so I'll start off by saying that I'm not sure if this is posted in the right category, but I didn't see one that said Toshiba TV or anything, so I'll stick with this for now. (Sorry, I'm like, really new to TV's. O.O)) Yesterday, I got a brand new smart TV - a Toshiba 3400, and set it up. I set up a Samba TV registration, and was able to get loads of cool apps, one being Crunchyroll. So, thinking I'd get to watch my favorite anime on my nice, and lovely new TV, I selected an anime, SAO season 2, and clicked on one of the non-recent episodes. It started up an ad, and then after loading the episode, it said, "Playback Error" and some other gibberish that I can't remember because the error message disappeared from the screen all too quickly.

Alright, so it still wasn't working, despite me clicking on an abundance of anime and clicking on random episodes. Same "Playback Error" message. Now, I've tried to watch a really old anime, probably from around 2011-2012. No error message, but instead, a black screen saying show will resume in 30 seconds. Been far more than 30 seconds. Still nothing. I'm very confused seeing as I've researched this question numerous times, and I have found nothing as of yet. Is it maybe because this TV is a brand new model or something? Literally, no one has mentioned anything about a Toshiba TV.

I'm really confused, please help! TT_TT

I wonder if it's 'cause you're a free user. I'm sending you a guest pass, so try applying that, and see if the app starts to work as a premium member.

Ahh, thank you! I'll try that now. I also think it may be because it's a new app on the TV or something, and they haven't fixed the bugs yet...? Eh, I'm not really sure, I've never been much of a TV wiz. xD Thanks though!

>.< Okay, so what's even more weird is that, when I open up the crunchyroll channel on my tv, there's no place for me to sign in or anything. Not a single place. So I'm guessing this is more a tv issue than an actual crunchyroll issue. Basically I'll go to home, click on 'hotlists' and it'll take me to Samba tv channels, which has all the apps or 'channels' I can access, including crunchyroll. But when I select crunchyroll, it shows me the 'popular' shows, and the list of things it thinks I might like, but no where that I can sign in to a literal account. I hit the menu button on the crunchyroll app, and it gave me a drop down menu of 'Back', 'Help', 'Close Menu', and 'Playing'. ; - ; I am so confused.

This is why:

Samba used to be Flingo, which is an external app which only uses a "free" CR connection. It does not have anywhere for you to log in.

To use an account, even a free one, having a queue, you have to either buy an extra "set top box", such as Chromecast, Apple TV, or Roku, or else hook up your PC via HDMI cable (if you have that kind of output available) on it. You could also use a PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, or Xbox one supposedly, if you have one of those.

They should call so-called "smart" TVs "stupid" in most cases. They can work for some things, but if you have to buy another exterior piece of hardware to make it work with a streaming service, then there was no point in getting a Smart TV at all (unless it was cheaper or something).

Maybe flinging might work though... It might be worth a try going here and see if something clicks into place: http://www.flingo.org/

So that's why! Thanks for answering! Looks like I might as well hook up my PC to it and just stream anime from there. >.> I'll check that website out too though and see if it does anything. Thanks again for the help! ^-^
