Hello,

Will crunchyroll offer rich presence on PS4 someday? On PS3, it would write "Crunchyroll" under my name when Im watching anime so me friends would not bug me.

On Playstation 4, however, no rich presence is noticeable so my friends think I;m just idle and doing nothing and I constantly receive invites, it;s annoying.

False, Sony has the the functionality available on the PS4's operating system and can easily be implemented via the provided SDK, but it's up to the developer of the software to implement it. Hulu and Netflix both have rich presence on PS4. On PS3, every video service has rich presence. Not sure why the Crunchyroll team has not implemented such a basic feature yet.

I just got a message from Crunchyroll asking them the question and they replied:

Thank you for your inquiry.

As always we are trying to improve both our programming as well as the devices we support and their functionality.

I have passed your email along to our product development team.

Then I'm guessing the app devs decided to implement the feature at a later date, once they've improved the core functionality.

Yeah, that's what I got out of the response I received from them just earlier as well. The application has been running without any issues on my end since PS4 launch, though (as was the case on my PS3) and seeing as the app has long passed the CRC stage, I find it odd that this basic and easily-implemented feature hasn't yet been added. Though it's a feature that is typically added late in development, it is usually added before the final release candidate. Sony doesn't make this a mandatory feature for final submission, but it has become an expected feature for consumers.

This is a very soft kind of function that is unlikely to interfere with other aspects of the application and so I do hope they get around to it sooner than later.

Cheers mate!
