How do you get people into Anime?

Nonsense! I convert every single soul I encounter. Its my irresistible charisma. TBH, a couple of people, just via recommending.

I think I got someone hooked with a FMA: Brotherhood recommendation.

Code Geass seems to work reasonably well. Still trying to find one that isn't quite so intense, but that appeals to a wide audience.

I really only talk about anime with people I know already watch it so I don't have any trouble recommending anything especially if I know their genre of preference. I personally first learned of it back in like 4th or 5th grade when someone let me read a copy of Shonen Jump, saw some things that were related to my interests even if I was too young to understand it at the time, I never really knew what it was until 6th grade when I got a subscription to Shonen Jump and for a couple years that was my only real exposure to it. Then at some point right as I was finishing up middle school I discovered anime and that there was more manga that just SJ and then 8 short years later here I am, more anime posters on my wall then I know what to do with, a good deal of manga, games, and anime on my bookshelf, and a collection of figures beginning to form.

Give non anime watching plebs the 'Anime Starter Pack'
it includes: Attack on Titan, Sword Art Online and Naruto for those Shonen buffs
and for Shojo you get: Oreimo, Toradora and whatever other anime you want for the low low price of becoming a weaboo with no taste.

I usually just try to introduce them to slice-of-life shows since I'm rather close to being a weeb -- although I'd suggest recommending anime such as Death Note, Higurashi, Haruhi Suzumiya, Madoka, etc. As for my past with recommendations, I've personally tried to introduce people via amazing comedies like Nichijou and Space Dandy.

What I do is I tell them about a show I like and recommend them to go see a few episodes. Then they choose whether to continue with it or not.

I think majority of the people I'm acquainted with secretly have an anime they follow. Its all about getting them to confess which one.

Depends on the person. If it is a guy who likes violence and gore, Another, Black Lagoon, Caanan, Claymore, Deadman Wonderland, and more are probably a good choice. But if it is a girl or guy who likes a great story, Ghost Hunt, Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne, Puella Magi Madoka Magika, Requiem from the Darkness, Sunday Without God, any many more. If a person would enjoy a comedy, then the options are limitless. There's an anime out there for everyone. It just takes the right one to get you hooked.
