I heard the movie wasn't too good. ANN gave it a bad rep, but I still want to see the film.

First Mistake dont prejudge from a a review ( Especially ANN ) You have to watch and be your own person. Now After I watched it I checked ANN was in the minority. This is a must watch movie,Try it you'll like it!

Bakemono no Ko The Boy and The Beast 1:59:06

I am not doing any lenghty review

Great Animation

Very good strory That's It

My Beef is with Hope Chapman at ANN being a BAKA snob ( not the first time I dont agree with her / actually most of the time/ I dont think she likes any anime. And Gabrielle Evans a film student usng her college smarts trying yo impress. If I seemed I was in a bad mood it was The Reviewer who I just dont Like,

You are doing reviews you have to thread carefukky as there are good anime gans that a good grasp of what's going on.

Yes point out flaws but dont talk down to us.

Hey I am a very big DRRR fan and completly dismayed at how they are ending it with bits and pieces and way too much dialouge.Dont give ud 4 so-sp episodes then cram the ending into one or 2 episodes ,This anime is too epict tp do that.

For exanple is it right to diss an anime when it stays true to the story and reviewer has no idea why it was done that way.

But then if the anime strays from the source it takes a beating.

So enough said I cant beleive just 2 weeks left gice or take / as usual no annoucements except a couple !

If you have Netflix watch Ajin next seson as it is really good, Yes the Dark side. I pay for 2 subs already .

I kinda enjoyed this but found the relationship between Ren/Kyuuta and Kumatetsu better than him and Kaede. Mostly because I think this movie should of been solely about the boy and the beast. His transition from a kid on the street to a grown up guy is something that I find pretty interesting to watch.

On the other hand, I find the battle between him and Ichirouhiko to be a rather mixed bag, felt like his purpose to kill Kumatetsu rather lacking. Also, the little creature on Ren felt more like a distraction (although it did play a somewhat important role when Kyuuta almost lost total control)

Nothing extraordinary for the movie. In terms of relationship dynamics, I thought it had its ups and downs. Music is decent and I thought the action was good. On storytelling, I think the film had a great start and fell a bit in the second half mostly because I wasn't sold on Ichirouhiko's character. On the other hand, introducing Kaede was kind of interesting as it gave Kyuuta a new experience since he came back. Still was an interesting watch overall for me. 7/10.

The director is already working on another film btw where he mentions about "taking on new challenges".

Certainly not the flop I was dreading, although I'm left wondering why some things were in the movie at all. Also tempted to reiterate Roger Ebert on The Matrix about interesting movies that retreat to safe and predictable action climaxes.

There was plenty to like though, and with everyone understandably boggly-eyed over the use of framing in The Girl Who Leapt Through Time whenever cinematography comes up it was nice seeing a comparable yet new example here.

Friday (March 18th) is the last day to see this movie in theaters if anyone is still on the fence about it. I think you should see it! I saw this movie twice (in the same weekend!) two weeks ago, and I enjoyed it immensely.

There was only one thing that really bothered me:

Yeah just saw this movie 2 weeks ago. I think its a good movie but i just thought it would have been better. Its hard to explain it but as far as other movie goes from the same creator, i'd say my favorite would still be The Wolf's Children.
