Changing the DNS server for your entire network would let devices that normally can't change DNS work fine, but you would need to be able to access and change your router settings. It also would mean you wouldn't have to change it for each individual device. Unfortunately, the Time Warner guy who setup our network has not given us the login information for the router, and its not on the router as it usually is.

We have so far come to the same conclusion as some of you. It seems that Time Warner's DNS service is faulty, which results in Time Warner customers not being able to resolve the IPs of our services properly.

Switching to a public DNS service, such as Google's, should work as a fix.

Try changing it in your router, if available.

The issue with the ISP DNS service should not be permanent though.

These should help:
http://www.groovypost.com/howto/customize-dns-kindle-fire-hdx/
http://help.unotelly.com/support/articles/54094-how-to-change-dns-on-amazon-kindle-fire-hd-

As an alternative, changing the DNS setup on your router will cause any devices that are set for automatic DNS configuration to follow the router's configuration.

One drawback of this technique is that it also requires one to set a static IP address. If you journey to another location, that IP address might be unavailable, so you would then need to remember to return the settings to normal. It is too bad the Fire apparently doesn't allow a static DNS to be set separately from a static IP address.

Thank you! This also worked for me. My kindle doesn't like the google DNS so I was at a loss until I came back to check the forums.

So is there where I'm supposed to post that no videos will play at all on my Xbox One, PS4, and Galaxy S5?

I actually can't watch crunchyroll on my desktop right now for any apparent reason. Done everything except change DNS which I doubt would help since I just started having this problem today.

Desktop playback should not be affected by the DNS issue. We're serving video for the PC streaming from a different provider.

The solution to that issue is given some posts earlier in this thread. You'll have to temporarily change your DNS server to circumvent TWC's broken one.

That's not possible for me. Not sure why I should even have to do that. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and HBO GO all run flawlessly. And even when they don't, they solve their own problems promptly. Only Crunchyroll has charged my credit card for a service which they have failed to provide me. It's been over a week. The point of absurdity has come and gone. But oh well. CR already has my money. Haha screw me. So professional

Crunchyroll is not causing the issue, nor can we fix it on our behalf. The only ones who can fix this are TWC, which would be the fix at the root, or the users themselves, which would be the fix at the tip of the branches.

Time Warner Cable actually has a record of causing such issues. Just a few months back their DNS servers had corrupted entries for the Playstation Network, rendering many users unable to log into PSN.

unfortunately im having the same issues, but i dont have TWC in my area. everything else works fine but the videos simply will not play on my iPad, or they will play the first 1 to 3 seconds and then freeze forever. i tried the DNS thing and it fixed absolutely nothing. :/
