I'll be back in two weeks.. I need to think about this a bit, but I think I can peg most of them (HINT: Spring and Fall are big winners.)

This is a tough one. This has been a great year, so deciding is tricky. For the most part. It got tricky at 5-10.

10. Sword Art Online 2
9. Sakura Trick
8. When Supernatural Battles Become Commonplace
7. A Good Librarian Like a Good Shepherd
6. Blue Spring Ride
5. The Kawai Complex Guide to Manors and Hostel Behavior
4. Chaika the Coffin Princess (both seasons, since they aired in 2014)
3. Wolf Girl and Black Prince
2. One Week Friends
1. Love, Chuunibyou, and Other Delusions - Heart Throb

I won't do a bottom 5. Why think negatively? It's not fun.

1. Knights of Sidonia - I've been waiting a long time for a mech anime done properly, but when you do it properly and give a Battlestar Galactica feeling to it... awesome combo. English dub was pretty great too, watched both the sub and dub versions in their entirety. If you never watched the final episode on Netflix and only the original Japanese release, do yourself a favor and watch it. Adds another 12 minutes.

2. Terror in Resonance - One of the few shows that can really make you question what's right and wrong. I wish it had another 1-2 episodes to flesh things out, but it was still a great show either way.

3. Aldnoah.Zero - Ending of season one was a giant "W T F" moment but the build up was awesome. Can't wait for the second season in January.

4. Parasyte - At this point in time (episode 11) this has been far and away the best fall 2014 show. Once it's done airing it'll probably be #1 or #2 slot for 2014 shows in my book, just too early to crown it yet.

5. No Game No Life - This show really seemed to be a love/hate relationship for a lot of people. I personally loved it and can't wait for the continuation whenever that might be. Definitely a well done cliffhanger, up there with Aldnoah for me wanting more.

6. Irregular at Magic High School - Started off slow and I almost gave up on it but a friend of mine who had read all the books told me to stick with it. Glad I did, the last half/third of it made up for the slow start.

7. Tokyo Ghoul - Similar to ^. Starts slow and finally builds up toward a good season ending. Looking forward to this one in January as well.

8. Your Lie in April - Don't know why but I absolutely love this show. It's truly about the characters, and even though he acts like a little bitch sometimes.... ok a lot of the time... Kousei at least shows progression and is finally starting to come around. Much like Parasyte by the time it's done airing it'll probably be top 3-4 for the year.

9. Garo: Honoo no Kokuin - This show got me hooked from the very first episode. The dad in the show is probably one of my favorite characters in a long long time.

10. Lord Marksman and Vanadis - Another one of those shows that I really like and can't quite put my finger on why. Maybe it's just the setting and the overall theme being consistently present (ie the territorial conflicts between lords) that keeps me interested, but it's one of the shows I look forward to most every week.

Considering the number of shows that came out this year, I actually nearly an even split between spring (3), summer (3), and fall (4). Winter 2014 was decidedly meh. Some good shows like Nisekoi and Chuunibyou's season 2, but not good enough for my top 10. The best show of the winter season was a leftover from fall 2013, Kill la Kill.

Just missed the cut:

Nisekoi - Good adaptation of the source material but even with 150+ chapters in the manga (of which the show has covered 49 or so) there still hasn't been any real relationship progression. Still enjoyable though.

Space Dandy - First episode was probably one of the best/funniest I've seen in a long time. The rest of the episodes just couldn't live up to it.

Chaika - Good show, but not great. Like the characters but they're all a bit boring. Though the final few episodes of season two are shaping up to be great.

Akame ga Kill! - Episodes 1-19? Top 5 for the year. 20-24? Bleh. Thanks White Fox, you assholes. Pretty much everything that can be said about Akame ga Kill can be said about the anime adaptations of Brynhildr and Elfen Lied.

Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works - Action is amazing, but it just doesn't live up to Fate/Zero story wise for me. I much prefer the characters and background action of Zero, the backroom plotting and scheming in that was just spectacular. UBW's high school centric story just devolves it too much into the generic nature that a lot of anime is these days. Though if it's anything like Zero the second half of the season will be far better (and nowhere near as slow paced) than the first half.

Sabagebu! - Probably one of my favorite shows of the year, but not one of the *best* shows of the year. It just hit all the right notes for me and it's one of the few shows that I'll probably re-watch at some point.

Sure, I'll make a tentative (and probably very odd) list.

Edit: I guess I should mention I'm only counting shows that started in 2014. Otherwise, Nagi no Asukara would take up most, if not all of my top ten spots.

No particular order:

One Week Friends
Selector ____ Wixoss series
Love Live Season 2
Wolf Girl and Black Prince
The Seven Deadly Sins
Engaged to the Unidentified
Your Lie in April (Edit: replaced Denki-Gai)
Ping Pong

Honorable Mention: Denki-Gai

This may be subject to change as the Fall season comes to a close.

Edit: Oh, we're doing favorite scenes and biggest surprises as well?

I can't choose just one or two favorite scenes, so I'll pick one per season. I won't include scenes from carryovers.

Biggest Surprises: Ping Pong, Sins, Wolf Girl

It may not be a coincidence that all three of these are in my top 10 of the year.

Hmm very tough list to make, the entire year feels like a blurr....Where did the time go?

Where on earth did all the time go?
The seeds of sleepiness start to grow
Time's constantly passing me by
as I keep asking myself 'why?'
So where has all of the time gone
What's it all been spent upon?

Anyway....Hmm notable standouts, that I don't need to even look up to recall.
IN NO ORDER, I just love them.

2)Yowa (Jowa)
5)Ping Pong
7)Tokyo Ghoul
9)The Seven Deadly Sins
10)(I am missing a Romance somewhere here, I know I had a romance I loved, wtf was it....)

There a lot of other notable mentions, such as Your Lie in April, Barakamon, Yuki Yuna, Wolf Girl and Black Prince, Rage of Bahamut, ZnT, Kill la Kill, Haikyuu, Terra Formars, "Parts of" Golden Time (24 episodes was too much) and so forth.
This are also series I love but the chances of me going back to rewatch them is almost zero, while the "top" 10 is a above 50 percent chance of rewatching. I have sentimental attachment to everything I have listed in this post and some others not even listed here.

At the end of the Day, I just love anime, and continually watch it =p , and thats that, the year has been pretty okay/swell. Met some new people, lost some people, and hope to meet more next year. 2015 is looking pretty bright for some new favorites and possibly gaining new shows to enter my top 20 of all time.

Oh has for favorite scene.......
hmm I will have to give it to the Christmas scenes in Ping Pong, as the show pans to the various main cast.....I had a really weird connection there, I won't even deny it, I know I had a tear coming down during that scene, maybe it was due to recalling a recent dead relative or what last Christmas season, but that scene has not left me even now, it resonates to me as spend time with those who mean something to you, they won't last forever.

Alright I think I got this weird list of mine figured out so *ahem* here goes
(In no particular order)

    - Mushishi
    - Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun
    - No Game No Life
    - Noragami
    - Amagi Brilliant Park
    - Hanamonogatari & Tsukimonogatari
    - Barakamon
    - Fate/Kaleid
    - D-Fragments
    - Witch Craft Works

This was quite the challenge to put together and well.... I really wish I could fit a few more, but alas here are some honorable mentions that didn't make the cut: Log Horizon, Tokyo Ghoul, Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works, Chaika and Madan no ou Vanadis. While Vanadis was in my top ten twelve days ago when I posted this list, the last episode was quite "meh" and anti-climatic that I decided to use that factor to swap it with Witch Craft Works.

Overall, the top ten shows I have chosen. Are shows that enriched my imagination. This goes down to character designs, aesthetics, and most importantly character interactions. Fantasy is my favorite genre and man... this was a good year for fantasy. If I had to pick a show where I had to watch as soon as it was released whether it was by iphone in school library or lunch breaks during work, It would have to be No Game No Life. The amount of fun and enjoyment it brought was off the charts. I always re-watched the episode before the new one aired and I believe I have already seen it three times throughout the year. Is it my favorite show of the year? I will have to say most likely yes.

Mushi-shi came back in glory with a stronger season than it's first in my opinion. Especially during the last half of the second season. Then, there is Witch Craft Works. In my opinion, this show had the best character designs easily this year. The colors used for some of those outfits were exquisite and I feel J.C. Staff did a marvelous job with the animation and story.

Favorite Scene
Would be last episode of Tokyo Ghoul with the white Rose turning red. Getting inside the mind of Kaineki and all that. Even though, that was kind of weird to end it there. The amount of symbolism was pretty epic.

I don't think I could give you a top 10, I'm fairly picky about anime. It takes a lot of time to complete a season so it has to be pretty good for me to even watch it.

A top 5 though, in no particular order:

-Monthly Girl's Nozaki-kun
-No Game No Life
-The Kawai Complex Guide to Manors and Hostel Behavior

Honorable mention: I Can't Understand What My Husband is Saying (not a full anime)
