Pretty sure we are a Republic, but you know....

Reading this thread, I am worried that they forgot that lesson in today's schooling.

Because it's a country with 330 million people with all types of beliefs, opinions, and ethnic backgrounds, we are also very individualistic and of course, we like our guns. Why this doesn't happen to places like Japan, or the UK, or Australia is very obvious. They are nothing like us.

Sure Japan has 100 million people, but 99% of them are Japanese. The UK, despite being somewhat diverse, is much more accepting of socialist ideals (like most of the EU) than we are and therefore are more willing to give up multiple rights for safety. Australia... well, we have more football fans than they do people.

Multiculturalism. It's a great thing until different ideals clash.

Pretty much. We'd probably be better off today if the South won the Civil War, Texas became it's own country, and California, Arizona and New Mexico still belonged to the Mexicans.
