One of the first things I did when I tore my achilles tendon was to build myself a gaming PC. Steam has been sucking up a chunk of my money ever since but even worse than that is my productivity. I am disgusted by my relatively inactive self. I am healthy enough to sprint now but I have only done it once since realizing this. I have become physically lazy... I used to be just mentally lazy but now I am both!

I lack motivation now... it probably isn't the fault of Steam, right? What am I putting my body on the line for anymore?

There is nothing wrong with buying games without ever playing them

I support random software developers

I'm always buying games, loads and loads of them but it comes from a genuine want for the game, I've a job so I can support it and I always thoroughly enjoy the games I buy. I won't just buy any random game, I have to genuinely want it like say Mass Effect Andromeda, my body longs for it.

Currently I have 266 games and 661 dlc, steam level 48

It feels like it was yesterday... I was a young lad of seventeen on new years eve, braving winter sale discounts wallet in hand. What did I care for petty celebrations when the light of gaben shone onto my potato-scorched eyes , with soothing promise of 60fps and 1080p gameplay.
When I finally came to my senses hours later from the bestial desires that ravaged me, I shed a silent tear for my emptied bank account and clicked open my library filled to bursting with GameZ.

is there a psychological phenomenon where one buys something they don't exactly desire purchasing because it's cheaper?

If you looked at how many games I have, you'd think so. But then again... compared to a lot of others, maybe not.

Steam is cool though

After taking a look and crossreferencing my purchasing history with steam sales. I´d that´s very likely O.o
