I'm at a bit of a stumper on what to get for my (step)neices and looking for some advice. I tried talking to their parents and they are about as clueless as I am. I don't know them well (as I said stepneices) and I really have no idea how to shop for girls plus I dislike just giving money or gift cards

Girl A) 13, hates everything, blames everyone. Athletic, smart and when making a video game character went with motorcycle helmet, leather coat and spikes.

Girl B ) 12 generally pretty pleasant, artistic, likes pink. When making a video game character went with Really REALLY tall, Pink and ballarina dress, with cat ears.

(I threw in the video game stuff cause I think when you give a kid customization options in a game, you get a decent look at their personality. Maybe it helps maybe it doesn't).

beyond getting help for myself I figure this thread might be handy for others who are as stumped as I am

For girl B i'd say get her a game, anything to do with pink, and from the video game chara. OR .. you can get her t-shirt with a cool lookin' cat on it.. or uh something artistic- such as a cool art set. though ask her what kind of artistic she likes but without sounding suspicious and go with that.. i guess? ?

This is the obvious answer for anyone with this problem- money, gift card, but since you stated you dislike doing it the easy way out and wanted to show care and decision for your gift, I would suggest a vibrator/dildo. They are getting at that teenage puberty age and this is probably the best possible present for anyone at that age trying to figure out their body. I, for one, would have loved a Flesh-light when I was 13. You're welcome.

Girl A: Stress ball.

Girl B: Wacom tablet. If she already has one just get her a pink stylus pen.

I was with you on the first answer until I continued reading

this is the internet so I was already prepared to reject that idea when someone suggested it. Pretty much knew it would be on the first page too.

Dolls might work, I was kind of worried they might be too old for them at this point.

Considered a drawing tablet of some sort for Girl B however she has already requested a Pink Etchesketch from her folks so I don't want to out do that

Stress ball is being seriously considered

Best idea here.

I'm 13 years old. For Christmas, I really don't want a doll. Gift cards are the best way to go.
If you do choose to give them, you better think of what kind it is.

Can't go wrong with canned produce. They'll always think about you when they aren't starving to death.

Those are tough ages. I have sisters who are 12 and 13. I also have 3 other sisters (20, 29, & 23). But, I digress.

For my sisters who are those ages, we got them subscriptions to Bop & Tiger Beat. They both like the magazine.

If you're looking for different, outside the box ideas, I think some of the other people have brought some up which might be good. I have one idea for Girl B. Pictionary - There are a few different fun variants of Pictionary which are also cool, such as Pictionary Man: http://www.amazon.com/Electronic-Pictionary-Man-Game-Version/dp/B005URS7SU/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1418787974&sr=1-1&keywords=pictionary+man&pebp=1418787976461

Hope it helps.
