Do you have an accent?
Posted 12/17/14 , edited 12/18/14
Growing up in New York City, 99% of people I know have an accent. I don't know if I do. I like to say I don't, but when I get mad I definitely do. I can't say the words softball, coffee, dog, walk, or talk without the heavy -aw sound.

For some reason my native accent annoys the living hell out of me. I have no "favorite" accent, but I do some really great impersonations. Mainly the South African accent, and Swedish too.

Do you have an accent, from wherever you're from?

v Yeah that's a good point. If you're feeling fun, you use Vocaroo to record yourself. You certainly do not have to though. It's just if you'd like to.

Well, I guess so. But doesn't everyone? I guess you could say I have a "Southern" accent... I dunno.

WE ALL HAVE ACCENTS.

Southerners believe northerners have northern accents. Vise versa.

If you hear someone from a different part of the world talking and you think they sound different then you automatically think... ACCENT. They think the same of you....

Apparently, I have a New York accent when I say the word "buttons" in a sentence. It throws my manager and coworkers off guard.

"I don't have an accent, this is just how things sound when they're pronounced properly" - Jimmy Carr.

I have a fairly typical South East England / Estuary accent. The kind that American people often mistake for Australian.

I think I've got a bit of a southern accent (American south). I'm not full on redneck, but I definitely got the drawl. Then again, my whole family is from the south.

I sound like a Midwesterner and I'm from the south. However, since neither of my parents are from the South, it makes sense. I also sound slightly easy coast. Sliiiiightly.

Naturally, there are moments where I might accidentally slip into redneck territory, seeing how I've been around the accents quite a bit, but it's only noticeable when i either count to a certain number or when I use words like "y'all" or "ain't". My mom's boyfriend has a total Texas drawl, I guess I picked up a bit of it…

i think mine is kind of a mix between a really proper and normal voice mixed with a tiny bit of country but im really good at doing different accents from everywhere im pretty sure it is because my voice can go really super high and then i can also make it really low my normal voice is kind of in between high and low so its fairly easy to sound like whoever i want to sound like
