Personally, I think this is one of be best pick ups that Crunchyroll has ever gotten. When I attended the Crunchyroll Industry Panel at New York Comic Con this year, I was super excited to find out that Switch Girl was getting acquired by them. I would have literally shouted out loud but I told myself to be cool about it. I have never heard of this show or the manga it was based off but I checked it out one day and never regretted it. It has the type of silliness I like in Japanese dramas. In fact, it might have had more than I was expecting. I've always wondered what a live action show would look like with anime aspects and this show delivered.

Switch Girl is the story of a girl who in public seems like the perfect it girl but in private she's the complete opposite. The way the show handles her, I guess you can say switch positions, are comical. I love Mariya Nishiuchi as Nika Tamiya. She does her reactions the way an anime character would both switched on and off. And I can't leave out Renn Kiriyama as Arata Kamiyama. Though the character himself I didn't really care for, he does make a good companion for Nika. She doesn't need to hide her off position with him especially since he has his own "other self" that he doesn't show people. Though it is sometimes annoying when he struggles to really show his emotion towards her sometimes making the relationship complicated. The pair goes through many trails together during these two season but they grow stronger and even gain new allies.

If you haven't been watching this show, I'm begging you to do so. Now I'm only asking this of people who don't mind this type of drama of course. If you have time to marathon this series (it's only 16 half hour episodes), definitely do it. It's more enjoyable when you can watch it back to back. Hopefully, with how popular the show is on Crunchyroll, they will also acquire the manga rights as well. I wouldn't mind reading it having watch the live action. And we all know the manga is always better than any adaptation that would follow. I'm now a fan of the whole Switch Girl series because of this and I know after you watch this you will too.
