I agree that it was pretty wonky. This comes from having not read the manga until about episode 6. After that I just binge-read the manga. So even before reading the manga and knowing the plot, the pacing already felt off after the first 3-4 episodes. I wasn't exactly sure of how they were trying to make the anime. Some parts felt rushed, and some parts I felt needed to be fleshed out more weren't.

Personally I don't an issue with how it is. It gets people that weren't interested before interested and they can read the manga afterwards to see that version, while offering those already read up on the manga a new take on the story. The characters, the story, and the key core points were kept relatively close. People really need to stop thinking adaptations should be exactly as the source and rather just enjoy what they're given as a new take.

I actually just marathoned the series over the past week or so and I thought it was pretty good; obviously good enough to marathon haha. I haven't read the manga (yet) but the pacing didn't seem all that awful to me. Some things could have been fleshed out more I suppose but yeah, I don't think this needs a reboot.

No, I now know that manga into anime is not worth it most of the time. Leave it like that and people should just read the manga.
