Hey guys,

We've unfortunately got some titles whose contracts are expiring and will be going back into the Crunchy Vault at the end of the year. However, there's still time to catch these shows on Crunchyroll if you haven't watched them already!

Growing up with an abusive father, Utsutsu is highly protective of his younger sister Yume. One day, Yume sees a red butterfly and contracts the strange Pupa virus. She begins to sprout grotesque wings and to indiscriminately attack both animals and humans. Hoping to find a way to stop the advance of the virus, Utsutsu seeks out Maria, a researcher who knows the secret of Pupa. He decides to sacrifice his own body as live bait for the sake of saving Yume.

Aoi prefers indoor hobbies and is afraid of heights, but her childhood friend Hinata loves to show off her passion for mountain climbing. As young children they once watched the sunrise from the top of a mountain, and now they've decided to take up mountain climbing in hopes of seeing that sunrise again. They have cooking battles with mountaineering gear, climb small hills in their neighborhood, and meet new mountaineering friends as they learn the ropes of the hobby. When will they finally see that sunrise again?

The theme of this drama is ‘No matter how cruel your fate, it's up to you to open the path to the future!’ While the characters will struggle to change a cruel destiny into a bright future, our heroine is a total weirdo unlike any you've seen before!

A very strange teacher with trust issues has a dream that gives her a premonition, and meets a girl who has the power to see the future. Together, they find themselves trying to stop a nightmare. What cruel fate awaits our heroine, who doesn't believe in love or trusting anyone? Will it be an unstoppable nightmare or something else?!

One of the can't-miss parts of this drama is the ‘dreams.’ Every episode will have a ‘dream’ which contains a hint to stopping some awful event that's going to occur in the very near future! These dreams will be filled with sci-fi and fantasy special effects! An exciting world of dreams for everyone from children to adults! Filled with dramatic twists and comedic elements, this show is wonderful entertainment the whole family can enjoy!

All 3 titles will be available on Crunchyroll until 7am on December 31, 2014, so get your popcorn ready!

Just so it's clear only the first season and not the 2nd (and still simulcasting) of Encouragement of Climb correct?

Having 2 weeks notice is appreciated.

According to the season 1 show page, just season 1. There's no such note on season 2's page.

I note both the anime are from Earth Star Entertainment, but Pupa won't even make it until one year from its premiere, while EoC at least premiered a year earlier.

EoC gets moved up on my watch list, but based on what I've read, I'm seriously considering giving Pupa a pass, despite it taking less than an hour to view the entire series.

You can pass Pupa, tbh; I watched all of it and though it was only <5min per episode I still would like that time back :/

Both are short anime one can marathon both and be done in less than an hour. One is terrible and the other I really have no interest in so pass on both.

I wonder if this means that EoC got licensed. But sad to see the first season will go. I guess I'll marathon it since it will only take an hour.

How else can I watch 5 mins of Onii-chan, Onii-chan?!
In all seriousness though you can get rid of Pupa but Encouragement of Climb shall be missed.

Since a keyword search in the help/faq section did not find any matches, I'm going to bite the bullet and (instead of assuming anything) ask what happens when a title goes to the vault?

It usually means that some sort of contract/license timeframe that the original provider gave has expired, and usually these shows will no longer appear on the site/come back; I'm not sure if there's ever been an instance where a show actually did (I know Titan just came back recently but that was a different scenario I believe). Sometimes it means they have been picked up for release by other companies, or sometimes just means the contract ended. :/

In any case, it always means that if you wanna watch these shows, better do it now!

Usagi Drop did. I think there have been one or two others that returned as well.

Huh, and here I just thought that it probably meant that you'd have to have a paid account to view them through Crunchyroll after they were moved from the "public access" (with adds) listings. I just thought that since it didn't mention removing the shows that the Vault that was mentioned was like the Manga section, where various levels of membership allowed you to view a different percentage of the titles.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question regarding shows "moved to the Crunchy Vault".
