The Interview..
Posted 12/17/14 , edited 12/17/14
The Interview is a comedy, where Seth Rogen and James Franco attempt to assassinate Kim Jong Un, glorious, immortal and most honorable leader of the North Korean dynasty.

N. Korea found out about this, hacked Sony, threatened to enact 9/11 on every theater playing it...Sony then decides it's best to cancel the film.

They're never going to release it in theaters or ever, at all.

Did they do the right thing by giving in, or should they have released it anyway?

Kim Jong-Un: "Yo Sony, we know you're gonna make a shitty Mario movie, and we know you're about to release a shitty movie about us. Now I'd fucken hate for people to know about your shitbrained movie plans to get leaked, but what I'd hate even more would be for millions of people to see your obnoxious bullshit movie about me. You dig?"

Sony: "OKAY OKAY, HOLY FUCK, WE'LL PULL IT FROM AS MANY THEATRES AS WE CAN JESUS FUCKING CHRIST."

KJU: "HAHAHAHA! Okay guys, make the leak anyway."

That's probably what happened.

A threat is threat, even though we know it's empty. Before calling Sony and the theaters pussy, just put your feets in their shoes; what will you do? If something really happens, who to blame. Do you take chances?

If a disgruntled passenger make a bomb threat, the plane will be delay and throughly search.

Were this a government entity that received the threat I would say no but considering this is a private company that will be held accountable by consumers for any potential mishaps they definitely did. Sure it's unpopular to the high-school kids who wanted a laugh but not nearly as unpopular as it would be for the potential family members of victims and their supporting communities for any form of terrorist event that could have been prevented.

North Korea has nukes I believe.. And their leaders have been batshit crazy, oddly enough, more so than the crazies we're currently embroiled in war with.

North Korea also seems relatively "peaceful" as far as crazy countries go. They aren't really trying to start shit and yeah, we could probably destroy them in a matter of minutes, but do we really want to do that?

It sucks, but yeah, it's not worth it. plus as another commenter stated, it's not going to be a great movie anyhow.

I don't think it's a brilliant idea, but Kim Jong Un likes to bluff a lot. Who knows. If he can get his attention away from cheese then maybe something could happen.

Think about this incident whenever you see Hollyweird pat itself on the back at award shows and interviews about how brave they were to make such and so award winning film or TV show.

They only care about free speech when there is little risk or harm involved.

I'm not even against the movie or anything like that but why would they make a movie about Kim getting assassinated while he's still alive. Should wait until he's dead first.

Because he's a brutal but goofy guy that just screams to be parodied.

A few celebrities made jokes about needing to kill off George W. Bush and his family when he was in office on late night shows and hardly anyone even blinked each time. There was even a badly made(even more so than this one) movie about his assignation.

that poll has been doctored.

on the plus side, at least North Korea must be keeping tabs on worldly affairs. it's possible that they could know more about everyone else than anyone knows about them. actually a fact and i think that's genius in a weird sort of way.

In North Korea, hierarchical rank is measured by your waistline.
