Absolutely. Anything in particular you are looking for?

Something similar to a combination of Angel Beat's heartfelt moments and comical relief with Black Bullet's amount of action (or type). Thanks.

That's a bit of a tall order... Umm, first thought is Trigun or Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, or possibly Sword Art Online (if you can get over a few rough patches towards the end of Season 1). Other possibilities:

A Certain Magical Index: Not quite as heartfelt, but not bad; action a bit more magic-focused.
Eureka Seven would work, if you like Mecha action.
Mouyu is a bit lighter on action, but still has a good mix of action, drama, and comedy.

Hey everyone,

So I'm kind of new to the Anime community been watching for less than a year. Anyways, I'm looking for a few suggestions that's leaning towards lighthearted, something like Fairy Tail, Hanasaku Iroha, or maybe like Sword Art Online, to sum up pretty much something that always leaves a smile on your face.

thanks!

Of you want Slice-of-Life with a bit of romance (like Hanasaku Iroha), try:

Toradora
Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions
The World God Only Knows
Devil is a Part-Timer
My Little Monster

If you want something with a bit more action, try:

Gargania of the Verderous Planet (mecha action)
Familiar of Zero (alt-universe sorcery)
A Certain Magical Index (mix of sci fi and fantasy)
High School DxD (low fantasy, though the fan service here is turned up to 11)

And if you just want slice-of-life with no romance at all, both of these are excellent:

Bunny Drop (AKA Usagi Drop)
Barakamon

Great suggestions! I've actually seen toradora, the devil is a part timer, and familiar zero, and I loved it! So I'm pretty sure the others will be just like it. Thanks!

Does anyone know what anime this picture/character is from? It looks amazing and I'd love to check it out!

Even though that appears similar to the character in Letter bee (Tegami Bachi) I'm pretty sure it is actually Kazuhiro Mitogawa from Ga Rei Zero (episode 9) (Funimation/Hulu)

Here's an old blog entry with lots of pictures. Yours is about 5 rows down in the grid.

Lag Seeing, the MC from /tegami-bachi-letter-bee has a rounder face and his other eye is a different color, but the similarity is pretty close.

Ah, that does sound right. It's been a while since I saw any of Letter Bee, so I thought I was just misremembering the art style.

Hey! So, I'm really new to anime; in fact, I actually used to kinda hate it. But recently i stumbled across the Studio Ghibli films, and I loved them so much i'm looking to try branching out into other anime stuff; but i don't know where to start... Plus, a lot of the animes you commonly see recommended on the web aren't available here on CR...
So, i'm looking for suggestions for someone like me who enjoys anime like in the Studio Ghibli films, but dislikes the crazy weird action stuff (like that "Yu-Gi-Oh!" show they used to air on Cartoon Network). If you know of anything, let me know! Please only shows that can be streamed here tho; thanks!!

Welcome to the club!

So, here are a few suggestions for shows that are at least a little in the line with some of the Studio Ghibli films: slower paced, thoughtful, and many of them have a mystical element to them:

Usagi Drop: 30-something single man adopts a 5 year old female relative
Otome Youkai Zakuro: In world where spirits and humans coexist, three soldiers join liaison task force.
Angel Beats: Boy wakes up in the after life to find himself in the middle of a battle he doesn't understand.
Maoyu : Legendary Hero confronts the Demon King, only to find a beautiful, intelligent woman who wants peace.
Nagi no Asukara : Four friends from underwater village, forced to go to school on the shore--on the cusp of events that will change the world for both towns.
The Eccentric Family : After death of their father, shape-shifters try to hold themselves--and their family--together.
Hanasaku Iroha : Girl forced to move from Tokyo to small town, and work at her strict grandmother's traditional inn.
