Hey! So, I'm really new to anime; in fact, I actually used to kinda hate it. But recently i stumbled across the Studio Ghibli films, and I loved them so much i'm looking to try branching out into other anime stuff; but i don't know where to start... Plus, a lot of the animes you commonly see recommended on the web aren't available here on CR...
So, i'm looking for suggestions for someone like me who enjoys anime like in the Studio Ghibli films, but dislikes the crazy weird action stuff (like that "Yu-Gi-Oh!" show they used to air on Cartoon Network). If you know of anything, let me know! Please only shows that can be streamed here tho; thanks!!

by not watching crazy weird action shows, you miss out on a lot
try watching Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann
it's a show about giant robots who throw galaxies at each other and it's my favorite show of all time

if you don't like TTGL then the action genre isn't for you, but give it a shot anyway

For Sci-fi/Horror:
Voices of a Distant Star
Interlude
The Place Promised in our Early Days
Time of Eve
Another
Mizu no Kotoba

For Romance/Slice of Life/Drama:
Celestial Method
Golden Time
Say I Love You
Wolf Girl and Black Prince
Natsuyuki Rendezvous
Space Brothers
Folktales from Japan
Erin
Glass Mask

These are all more serious/grounded in reality titles (some with the magic of a Ghibli film but not the goofiness of a Yu-Gi-Oh).

Welcome to the club!

So, here are a few suggestions for shows that are at least a little in the line with some of the Studio Ghibli films: slower paced, thoughtful, and many of them have a mystical element to them:

Thanks for the suggestions!! I'll check those out.

Yeah, I'm sure some of the "crazy weird action shows" are pretty good!! I'll definitely check some of them out eventually but right now i'm just trying to ease into it all if ya kno what i mean. The throwing galaxies part sounds interesting tho...

What do you mean looking for? Do you mean something that you watched but can't remember the title?

Queue suggest please consider.

You have that why not add two one for shows you plan to watch but did not start and one that you finesd and the one we have rite now will hold all that we are in the middle of and can watch with are current rank but for the free users bribe them to watch stuff in the list that BUT requires premium like the latest ep of naruto and if they are all chlt up will sugest like uslu tv show to start next and pike one from the not starred list if possible.

This thread is for requesting recommendations and advice from other users (and replying to them), not for making suggestions to Crunchyroll. There is another forum.for that in the Help section, and there isn't a minimum point requirement for posting there. Go to /forumcategory-391026/suggestions-feedback

Im looking for a completed 12 or so episode anime that i can watch in one day . I havent got a favorite genre but my main ones are anime like death parade that i really liked as well as future diary and another so i am open to stuff like that ( no toyko ghoul please) . I like to watch a romance comedy highschool or otherwise after a depressing or heavy anime . Im open to ecchi as long as the plot is good , reverse or regular harem is fine but no yoai or yuri,if i want that i seek that out on my own in the form of fanfiction. Action is fine but action alone will not entertain me .

So yeah im not fussy as long as its shortish , good or at least decent plot and thats about it other than no poorly done time travel stories, i really hate them.

I'm having a hard time coming up with anything I've seen on the more serious side of things that seem like a good fit, but for the light romance/comedy/highschool thing, here are a couple:

My Little Monster
Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun

Also, Tonari no Seki-kun. Don't let the episode count fool you. Each episode is only about 10 minutes long so you'll get through all 21 episodes quickly, and while there's also no romance, it is very, very fun.

Ahh I need more crunchiesss!

I work for a non profit organization called THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE PRESERVATION OF SKIN ART. We will actually preserve your tattoos after you die. Its really cool and touching to see how much a tattoo means to someone once they have passed.

I was wondering what my fellow crunchies thought of this ..

If it happens in the future, you can just report your thread and a mod can move it.
