I remember going against my mother's rules by sneaking in the livingroom on Saturday nights to watch the original Toonami. That was like ten years ago. I remember being so excited to watch Inuyasha and Sailor Moon. I felt like a boss watching Dragon Ball xD

Well truthfully it's hard to say what anime I watched first. I vaguely remember watching Speed Racer when I was young and Pokemon later but I never really considered myself an anime fan. In fact by the time I was in high school I actually HATED anime due to the sort of environment I was in. It wasn't until I started staying up late to watch Adult Swim on the weekends that I started drifting into the Toonami block. Next thing I knew I was watching Fullmetal Alchemist, Bleach, Eureka Seven, Soul Eater...

At some point my mind got over the sheer strangeness of shows like Bleach and I actually started to enjoy myself. Haven't turned back since then.

I started watching anime when i was around 10. I got grounded and my parents wouldn't let me watch TV. I remembered playing a Yu Yu Hakusho game and realizing that there was an anime of it. So i searched it up, watched an episode every night, and loved it. I then searched for anime like it, found soul eater, and kept searching for more anime. Here I am years later, still watching anime.

I started watching because of ^this guy^.

I saw him watching some episodes of Soul Eater summer before last and thought, "Hey, this is interesting so I'll watch it too."

I was intrigued enough to start looking for other anime. I found Death Note because it was prominently displayed on Hulu and I recognized it from a friend's shirt. That's when I thought, "This is awesome, but it would suck if it was made in America ('cause I mean, Light would have turned into the typical vigilante-type hero, solving crime 'n such. His god complex is way better.)." I realized I was looking at a very different facet of storytelling, and that's when I was hooked.

I was bored, 'Heaven's Lost Property' was the spotlight on my Netflix so I gave it a shot. Enjoyed it.
Now I'm all in.

In the early 90's I was handed a tape, nihao my concubine. I fell in love with ranma 1/2, I watched thundercats, voltron, Pirates of dark water esc. Then BAM Can a simple "cartoon" bring out all these emotions saved for the trials of life? Yes, Yes it can. I quickly became addicted and powered through all the movies on VHS. After Ranma I quickly found myself addicted the record of lodoss war!! Once again, putting my many nights of pen and paper D&D in a whirling phantasm of awe and wonder. That was the start... Trying to cling to reality, only to be sucked in again and again. A device this sinister can only be the result of Batman trying to keep me from spreading my laugh.

CURSE YOU BATMAN!!!!

This may not still be active, but I became a fan through friends. I never watched anime until I found out my friends did and gave it a try. I'm 19 now and was 18 at the time. I've completed a few shows since then and I found I really enjoy the plot depth and characters. sadly, I only have a few people to discuss anime with though, which brings me here
