The Labyrinth of Grisaia is out now

About 47 minutes and I think it captured the mood of the series again. We see young Yuuji when he was a kid and some of his past; obviously far from normal compared to most people. Oh and remember the girl that was mentioned during the first season? Asako? That girl is in this special...which I'm not surprised at.

Some mixed feelings on this but considering that it serves more like a prequel, the storytelling worked.

And it was fucking dark:

Yuuji imo should be quite grateful to have a sister like Kazami. Their father is dick though.

Kazuki

Kazami is their last name

Grisaia no Meikyuu: The Labyrinth of Grisaia

How Yuji is sane is beyond me ! That was quite a rough backstory but adds to the original series !

I guess we go to the regular EDEN series!

Yuji and Kazuki / quite the realtionship!

Yuji and mom / mom covered for him IDK why / Yuji was innocent but could have sent to a mental ward ?? ? No dad pic total POS

Heath Oso / worse than his dad / total lowlife!

Marlin

Even in real life, it still amazes me how, some people can live a life like Yuji has had with all the tragedy and stuff and come out stronger / resilient and be a better person because of it, while other people it just totally destroys them

Grisaia no Meikyuu: The Labyrinth of Grisaia - Special

That was a great way to get back into the Grisaia mood as we look into the past of Yuuji Kazami. And let me tell you that It's dark. So dark a flashlight..no a lantern...not even a lighthouse would shine through the darkness that surrounds Yuuji's past.

For one we get to see Kazuki again and god that part was hard to watch. Being the sibling of a prodigy and being constantly compared to them must be rough. It hit me hard. And that bath scene

Then it just goes downhill from there, I don't want to spoil too much but god damn Yuuji went through so much, I am surprised he is able to stay sane. Watch this special, it is really good. Even if you don't want to watch the Grisaia series, I must say watch this special because it's just that good.

This special was beautifully written, paced really well in my opinion, it had my attention the whole time, and was executed perfectly. Can't wait to see how they execute Eden of Grisaia.

So intense.
I wouldn't expect less from Grisaia.

For one moment there I thought I accidentally clicked on Aki Sora again. Damn, this happens all the time.

Didn't like that at all. Just seemed to me like it wanted to be shocking soooo bad, as if it was written by a moody teenager that wants to impress the cool older kids. I for one didn't feel a thing from this, it was just kinda boring, generic and a little tasteless at times. Don't think I'll be watching any more of this.

Well, I expected Yuuji to have a tough childhood, given that he mentioned he was a very broken human, when he was saved by his teacher, Asako. His early childhood was pretty much water in a blender with as much different crap as you could think of...at max speed.

I was also surprised to see how far Kazuki's affections went for Yuuji. Well, I say surprised but anime has taught me many, many things...
Nevertheless, it was a good watch for me, if one can say that in this context. Could really do with some comic relief though.

I find it unwonted that Asako literally had little to no spotlight, especially since this was suppose to adapt Meikyuu

I wanted more Asako too!

Still trying to figure out of his sister is still alive after the Angelic Howl arc.

Indeed. Seeing her alive and knowing how she ended up was a little bittersweet. But if there's no obvious proof that someone's dead, they still have a chance. I hope we find out before the season ends.

He would have been destroyed, if it wasn't for JB's investigative skills into the identity of ET-01, and Asako becoming his sensei. With the right support at the right time and a lot of patience, it is possible to get back from the brink of hell. I thank them for saving him.

I really enjoyed that opening/intro episode. If i wasn't state side I would try to get my hands on the visual novels. Unfortunately, with the original series, I wasn't interested enough to track them down when I was in Japan and I wont be going back for a few months.

I got to say, Jesus, in the first season you kinda felt that Kazuki was a good sister but the reality isn't so black and white. I get the feeling that shes like some master manipulator if shes still alive (which she probably is considering all the build up her character is getting). If she finds out about Yuiji's little harem of girls shes going to kill them all...

Wow, just finished labyrinth, that was some heavy shit. Brilliant start, can't wait for Eden now. That background makes an already awesome protagonist (yuuji) , seem even cooler after the crap that he went through.

That would be a good plot if they do that in Eden for instance she wants yuuji all to her self. I never thought of that that would be a cool plot

Damn man, I knew Grisaia was dark but that was on a whole new level. It was a great special, definitely my favourite opening episode of the Spring without a shadow of a doubt. I loved the way they tackled Yuuji and Kazuki's relationship, It was certainly even more twisted than what I expected after the Angelic Howl arc. Now I'm very interested to see where Asako comes into this. It's very clear that she is the one to thank for moulding Yuuji into what he is today so I'm dead excited to see how she handles the task.

Well that was a pretty dark background story for Yuuji. It maybe a bit over the top dark

But after this I wish they do follow it up on how he got saved. What was done to undo the messed up chidlhood but then again this anime is not only about Yuuji . <_<

but it felt like a set up for a reunion between Yuji and the man
