So what?? I'm a guy too and I listen to Taylor Swift too. I listen to a lot of K-pop girl group (and solo singer like IU), with Girls Generation being my favorite. What's wrong with guys listening to a female musician.

Okay so i was watching this dude in a car next to me jamming out hard to some Taylor swift on the way to work......my first thought was ..."Okay??" I then started rockin out with em.... What are your thoughts on the matter? Do you think its weird? What would you have done?

Better question... Why does this matter? What makes you feel so weird about it?

i never said i felt weird.. i was just curious to see what other thought about it. Its turning out to be pretty entertaining to see all the answers.

I should come up with the term, Maninist. It's the opposite of feminist

It's Meninist/Menimist. And it already exists. Well, on Twitter, at least.

You're not allowed to make me look stupid and I don't have a twitter, or ever been on it. I think it's ridiculous.

i think the proper term is DUDEISM , DUDIST...on Crunchyroll

I was surprised at first when I found out a bunch of guys I know listen to Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, etc and I thought it was really funny. But now, I think it's normal even though it still amuses me When my guy friend first told me that both he and our mutual friend liked the song "Call Me Maybe", I couldn't help but burst out laughing. Ah, sorry man..

I'm just in total shock there's even a question about this. I mean... some people think it's weird to listen to singers of the opposite sex? Wha...?

This is the most ridiculous extension of the playground attitude that 'girls are icky' that I've ever encountered.

Is it limited to vocals? If there's a woman playing a guitar a) can you tell just by the sound and b) does it make you hate the song?

Do you think it's weird for a girl to listen to a male musician?

Arch enemy, Within temptation, Nightwish, The agonist, In this moment etc.
Kuribayashi, Minami and Misato, Aki as a special mention but that's because i love Jam project and both of them sing quite a bit of songs i like. Misato, aki mainly because Muv-Luv - Calling.
My 14 year old nephew made the comment once that he doesn't like girl singers so it's something that bugs me quite a bit.

If it's good I listen... that can be anywhere from Michael Jackson to Vocaloid Synths or even Pirate Metal. Gender doesn't matter to me if the music is solid.

This isn't something I really think about. If the music is good, I'm listening to it, regardless of who is singing.

Thanks. I don't have to say it. Great minds think alike.

Well I think there is some kind of social pressure to this around here where I live. I mean, you never really hear a guy listen to a song sung by a girl just like that, it's weird haha, though I listen to a lot of anime songs but doing so and other dudes witnessing me listening to it gives me a weird feeling But even so I keep listening to it, because it's good
