well its been a month since the "right around the corner" post and 17 days since the 'its closer than you think' post

i can only hope it comes out sometime in the next few weeks. its preposterous that something so basic has taken so long to implement. ive been using my 4 year old ipad 1st gen to stream crunchyroll from the ios5 compatible app and that dinosaur can stream higher quality video than my 1080p android tablet.

It's in no way a basic change.
The Android app has to work on hundreds of different devices (not just phones at tablets even) and various different Android versions. Due to that, the testing needs to be more extensive than for iOS devices, of which there are about dozen with less software versions.

Or they can enable it for the mainstream devices they have tested and just have it disabled for the ones they haven't gotten it working on yet and at least some of us will have it in the meantime.

We're already live testing improved streaming quality, so you may experience some changes on your end.
Let us know if anything is awkward or not working properly.

Thanks!

Yay, I'm finally seeing it too tonight on my Kindle Fire HD. Had to download 1.1.2 manually from 1mobil and sideload it though, since the Amazon appstore is still at 0.9.7

I'll have to see if I can sideload it to my fireTV stick with ADB now, too...

Nice attempt, we appreciate your efforts.

Device: Nexus Player (AnTuTu Benchmark 39365)
Android: 5.0 Lollipop with Leanback code for TV mode
Internet: 25MB cable

Results:

* Apk loaded flawlessly
* login functioned properly
* thumbnails from Que showed up properly
* Selected episode initialized and played

Issues:

* Audio was about 3 seconds (guestimate) ahead of video on the feed.
* Noted video stutter

Considerations:

When moving mouse no video controls popped up. (this might be too much of a hassle to implement) so I had a difficult time navigating to the position in the episode that I wanted to be at.

Again thanks!!

Unfortunately even the current CR player 1.1.2 is too buggy to play video on the NP or lollipop, so your program having issues is understandable.

Ohkay so I downloaded the adaptive apk after the other wasn't working and all my problems have been solved. The only thing that I could want is an icon for my home screen. Thanks a lot chief!

Try the adaptive version. It's fixed the audio/stuttering issues in the past. Let me know how it works, I have a Nexus Player too but haven't tried sideloading it...

Nah, I just rehosted it on google drive. It's the same adaptive version. If you already have it, it won't be any different.

Also, the only difference between the adaptive version and the regular version is the adaptive version uses a stream that adapts to the speed of your internet (and maybe device?), whereas the regular version is locked at 1080p.

Well I can only watch at 720p and I share my internet so the adaptive is great.
