Anything and everything has stereotypes. There is no escaping from them.

Just like how you can be offensive to anyone about absolutely anything.

I understand that i shouldn't let it bother me, and most of the time i dont. but when its constantly happening and you are always introduced to new people as hey this is Matt ..hes asian. Im just like did you have to emphasize the asian part? Im not ashamed of my ethnicity , its just why bring it up im sure they can tell....or according to another blog on here lol filipinos always get mistaken for something else...anyways im solid as far as turning the other way, im just ranting .

im a punker so i deal with lots of stereotypes that don't involve race at all. black hair and nails/ clothes/ lip piercing/ "she must worship the devil" i get approached by so many religious people on the street its disgusting and they always hand me some pamphlet about freeing me from satan. i don't even believe in the devil or people say 'you must be attention starved" not in the least i just simply like it. plus i have found that its a good way to never have to deal with people that i really wouldn't want around me in the first place because they will steer clear of me lol

I suffer from the Asian stereotype. Really, it's just treated as fun and games but in my opinion stereotype jokes and the people who use them are idiots- used for a cheap laugh. It bothers, shames, and bores me when the only joke you can make is about my race, my mom, or an act of coitus.

I'm mostly unaffected by stereotypes for black people, since they don't really apply to me half the time. I really don't fit the thug stereotype haha. I just get annoyed by things that directly point out how dark someone is. Like "Where are you" if it's dark inside or "You're so dark, you're purple". Um, no freaking duh, one knows if they are dark or not.

Funny thing:

1. I AM good at math. I hate it, but I happen to do really good in that subject.
2. I do know Kung fu.
3. My eyes are indeed pretty small.
4. I'm short.
5. I can't drive.

I don't really care for labels and/or stereotypes. They don't bother me.

I think it happens to everyone at some point in your life. If not they you're pretty lucky to not have experienced such a thing. Ironically most stereotypes are due to how you look although humans are all one race; just varying in features and pigmentation. Some happen when you do or like something different.

I will admit, I had made jokes about stereotypes in middle school but, as I got older I realized how stupid they are. I try not to let stereotypes get to me but, it is hard to ignore it at times.

Since I'm white I don't think I've ever been racially stereotyped, but there are many times when people call me emo. Oh labels. I thought they were reserved for middle school, but I was wrong.

There was a time when I was emo, but now because I wear dark clothes, some eyeliner, and have dark hair, it still makes me as such? It's my personal style choice, not a label…
