Although I have vague memories of watching Sailor Moon as a small child, I think it was probably Rave Master when it was airing on Toonami. Gradually started watching whatever anime Adult Swim was playing, although I mostly remember the original FMA and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. One of the .hack// series was in there too. Also the infamous 4Kids dub of One Piece, from which I have yet to recover, even all these years later.

But I probably have those first three to blame, and then likely Naruto and Bleach.

Thanks. Now that I realize that I've essentially been watching anime for ten years, I feel old.

My friend at school had gotten into FMA, around the same time I started reading it from the local library. He watched others, and suggested them to me, and by now, I have watched more than he has. :3

I did watch Naruto when I was little, but I hardly remember it

There was this girl on instagram I met somehow and she sort of introduced me to Attack On Titan and I started watching it on netflix I was super immpressed by the art, story, and the fact that i didn't mind reading subtitles. I then watched more anime on netflix and other sites. It was not to long ago, in April.

One of my cousins got me to watch a few episodes of Inuyasha which got me interested in Anime but what got me really into Anime would probably have to be Naruto. Naruto is also the main reason I continue to watch Anime.

At first, I thought Pokemon was the only show with different animation until Digimon, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z. I thought to myself for a moment, "Are they going to do the same thing on Pokemon by villains having mottos, villains sent to the air, and other stuff like people living by themselves, especially usual things on Pokemon like battling with Pokemon. Then I found a show called Yu-Gi-Oh! which people would battle with cards from the card game called "Duel Monsters". When I first watched Yu-Gi-Oh!, they played with cards that summon monsters but it's not same thing like Pokemon, which means no team-rocket like villains, no mottos, not even sending villains to the air, it is not like the day being saved in one episode. The problems were solved in 2 to 3 to 4 to 5 to 6 or whatever you want count it part episodes. I'm not saying it's ridiculous. I'm experiencing anime in a different way, I was little when Pokemon was on the air. Now that I've found that there are different anime in the world besides Pokemon by watching different anime shows, I am now excited in anime. My opinion is that Pokemon is the leader of anime and the first anime to me and also it is in charge of all anime, just like you what they say it, "Follow the Leader". Pokemon is the boss of all anime in my opinion.

For me, it was...pewdiepie -.-, when i used to like him, he uploaded a MMD oculus rift video, I really liked the song in the game (gwiyomi i think), so i checked the comments for the song name and listened to it, the one I listened to had Miku dancing to it, I thought she was really cute, looked in the comments for her name and listened to her songs (viva happy, the world is mine and the disappearance of hatsune miku etc), when my friend (who likes anime) found out I was beginning to like anime (even though vocaloid isn't really anime, anime style I guess), first off, he had a nerd out, then he recommended death note and bleach...that's pretty much it, started out with vocaloid

Well, I actually got into by watching a cartoon that looked like anime. I know it's not "real" anime, but it's anime inspired. This got my interest. I started looking into it with manga drawings. I thought it was beautiful. Then I forgot about for a few year. Later, someone brought up an short anime they thought I might be interested in. I watched it and it change my entire lifestyle. I'm not going to get too personal, so don't ask. I forgot about for another year, then I met this person who was Naruto obsessed. After seeing that person, I was like "Okay fine. I'll give it a try". This time, I didn't forget. Now I'm in knee-deep in the anime world and I still sinking.

I started out not to long ago when i finished a game on psp called corpse party, loved it, then in a game review i saw in a comment something like "if you like this game, you'd love higurashi no naku koro ni", then i tried it out, love it, then it went on and on with similar animes, then i started liking other genres of animes.

I first noticed anime about a year and a half ago when i started learning Japanese.
Mainly because i noticed some series that sparked with my unaverage, strange, oddity, weird side. i was not really sheltered, its just stuff that made me say "no, there cant be a show about something like that" and i was proven wrong time and again.

Six months after i noticed anime i gave it a shot starting with the series "Henneko" it had a fresh theme to it i never really seen growing up in the U.S. and ive been hooked every since.

I've been watching anime as far back as I can remember. I think it came with growing up in Philippines. I remember watching Princess Sarah with Filipino Dub, probably back when I was 5years old. Beyblades, Cooking Master Boy, Pokemon, Gundam, Digimon and my uncle was addicted to Dragon Ball. He never missed an episode. Moved to the UK when I was 8 and I watched normal CN stuff, Jetix and Toonami. I loved Toonami. I used to religiously watch YuGiOh, Naruto, Shaman King, and One Piece but I slowly started watching more Western Cartoons, Avatar:Legend of Aang and dubbed Tokyo Mew Mew W.I.T.C.H. ... And then circa 2009 and start of college, I stopped and started watching more JDramas and such.. though I remember watching Ouran High School Club.

Ultimately, I've been watching anime regularly again because of Code Geass. A friend recommended I watched it, and though I struggled with the first few episodes, once I passed that. I was hooked. It's definitely on my top 3. That was around christmas time 2 years ago. Last year I joined my uni's Anime Soc, and that got me even more addicted along with the society introducing me to Crunchyroll.

So basically, Code Geass and Crunchyroll.
