She actually didn't really get over it, it was more like she just followed her "seiyuu-sensei's" advice when she set her straight on what the industry is and other reasons she could've been replaced.

When she told Futa it isn't about the seiyuu but the fans whose dreams come true. Futa seems to have been looking up to her as a hero since day one. When she told Rin (who she knew wasn't a backstabbing lil so-and-so) about it formerly being her part she admitted still being jealous but also being happy for her friend. Futa has always been portrayed as a quiet, sweet girl so it kind of fits in with her character. If it was Ichigo and Rin I could've seen it last a bit longer.

It sounds like ppl must overcome their own troubles all alone.

That is why we have friends, family and senior colleagues/co-workers, in my humble opinion.

And yes, to openly admit you are jealous about your part being taken by someone else and then to be a friend and cheer her up so she can do a good job needs a lot of courage that, sadly, mainly happens in fiction. Normally ppl tend to keep those thoughts to themselves.

Happens quite a bit among my friends, but then the SCA has quite different social mores than the general run of society.

Episode 7

The girls are together at the studio doing different projects with Futaba dubbing an American film, Ichigo doing an audiobook, and Rin doing voicework for what appears to be a fighting game. Each girl has their struggles, but in the end they quickly adapted to change. I especially like the imagery of Rin getting punched in the gut when she is saying her lines throwing punches of different sizes. And then there's Rikiya Koyama who shows just how awesome he is behind the mic. That's a nice and informative episode there, and the ending is pretty funny along, and the Nanoha A's opening theme song is played.

Episode 7

Mm, so Futaba did a dub for a horror movie. Cute except for the part where she freaked out. I think she did well though along with the other girls in the end.

Koyama is also quite an awesome person. I hope he becomes more relevant in the future.

Other than one or two voice actors/actresses, I typically don't know their named. Yui Horie. who has already been a guest here, is one of those exceptions, but this weeks guest had me at the googlemachine. He's been in quite a few that I've liked, but he's currently Tora in Ushio to Tora.

I dunno if American dubbing is different. I get the feeling that it is; for some reason, I imagine American dubbing voice actors isolated in typical recording booths, and recording their lines in sequence. Kinda like she did for the game in this episode. Here, all the actors were in the same room, so there's a sense of interaction. Of course, I could be (and usually am) completely wrong, or perhaps every studio does it differently.

Pretty much depends on the studio and its infrastructure. In western countries there is a tendency of isolated booths for each character dubbing but also they do share the same booth time to time.

Seiyu's Life! EP 7 / "Dubbing"

Another side of VA's in Japan ! The main focus was on Futaba who got a zombie movie dubover with Rikiya Koyama who has done anime roles but his dubbing work of English movies for actors like George Clooney / Kiefer Sutherland / Christian Bale / Hugh Jackman really fits this EP quite nicely!

It was nice to see the trio altogether at the same studio! Ichigo recording an audiobook, and Rin doing a game voiceover.

But again the focus was on Futaba who got not only nervous from Yamori,( A VA who dont think too highly of her VA abilties ) but meetiing Rikiya Koyama who is just an outstanding VA in real life ! She had issues like the battery running out on her headphone set! But did well considering ! She had a minor role as a Zombie screaming but had fill-in roles too during the movie ! Not only did Rikiya Koyama think she did a good job but Yamori said she was much improved !

The nice ED was when the two VA's said to tag along with them to the Wrap Party !

Episode 8

Rin :3

Slow episode but I think Futaba became more confident with her skills. Hoping the best for these girls.
At least they seem to have some fans, especially Rin.

Episode 8

The CD is finally out and the girls are holding a mini-concert at the record store, and while Futaba is having a hard time, it's a success. But the CDs just aren't selling. Well, that's to be expected seeing that not many people know who Earphones is. Then Futaba is given a narration job, and not seeing the script and video ahead of time really made Futaba nervous. But there, she meets Yuji Machi who was once in her position. Futaba sure is apologizing for everything, but she is making an honest effort. The girls were cute in the concert, all while Futaba is going through an awful lot of awkward moments.

So I'm always forgetting this particular show's schedule so I'm glad the other people posting here are unknowingly my queue reminder. Anyways, I'll wager that the newbie gorilla story Yuji Machi was telling was about Yuji Machi himself, but since they don't seem to be repeating guest actors, we'll probably never know. Futaba's self-narration at the end of the episode was cute, and hopefully a sign that her new confidence is not just transient.

I liked seeing the side of the anime industry given us in Shirobako but this I'm actually liking so much more. There's something about Futaba as a MC that's very easy to relate to. She's very human and very 3D for a 2D character. I loved when the fan came up to her to tell her he's been following her career since she started (at just the right time). It made for a really feel good moment .

A good companion show to Shirobako and probably highlights an actors life in general.

Wish they did more drama CDs here in the U.S.

Episode 9

And now, an episode told from Konno's perspective as she's Futaba's manager, and much like Futaba she's struggling in the confidence department. The first half is basically a recap of events so far with Konno being the center of attention. It's her job to get her seiyu clients a job, and she's not exactly inspiring confidence, especially after handing her a job out of her voice range. But that's something Noriko Hidaka had to do. Konno still has lots to learn about her job seeing that she could have called instead of rush over to the studio when they were stuck in traffic. That's a nice way to develop Konno's character.

Next episode is going to focus on Rin and her life at school.
