Hello, hope you are all enjoying your days and I thank you for taking the time to click on my little forum link here. Getting right into it, Anime reviews are something I've wanted to talk about for quite a while. However, none of my friends/associates who watch anime care enough to worry about something like individual reviews. So I thought I'd make a post here and see if anyone actually cares...

What do you want or like about Anime reviews? :Personally I haven't found any place on the internet that does Anime reviews quite right. Either they do complete synopsis about the show after it's already aired, which is full of spoilers for potential new viewers to the show, or they do flashy first episode reactions which are inherently flawed due to the lack of data . I would like it if Anime reviews were done more like Power Rankings in sports, where the individual players/teams get graded on a week to week basis. If there were or is a place where Anime are graded and ranked on a similar basis that would be fantastic. If anyone knows of a good anime review site, please type in a referral below I'd love to support quality reviewers

What do you dislike about Anime reviews? : The biggest problem with Anime reviews is the lack of continuity. Pretty much 90% of all Anime reviews are either big hype after the 1st episode or a complete overview once the show has completed. Referring back to sports, it's like judging a football team after the first game and then never re-ranking them until after the season is over. That would never work in sports, so why should it in Anime?

The closest and best thing for me in the way of Anime discussion/reviews right now would have to be the comments made by people in the bottom of the episodes here on Crunchyroll which, while being at times insightful and enjoyable to read, simply don't cut it as a review.

So what do you all think? Good topic for discussion? Am I full or crap? Am I completely missing something awesome? Let's hear it

Might be the obvious post, but check out Arkada's reviews if you haven't already

Reviews basically everything but super long anime and hentai. He has a consistent upload schedule and generally I find he has taste similar to mine so I'll know I'll most likely like stuff he recommends.

Hey it wasn't obvious to me since I'd never heard of this guy before, not sure if that has more to do with how well he is reveiced or just the fact that I don't ever get to talk about Anime to other people really...

Regardless I'll continue to check out his stuff and go from there. I've already checked out one review and it was better than anything else I had ever seen when it comes to Anime reviews, but maybe not quite what I was hoping for.

Anyway, thanks so much for the link even if it may have been obvious (not for me though)!

I've also been looking for the same, a good anime reviewer or site.

Quite frankly, when I look at a review of anything, I'd like to see a non-biased review. More often than not I read reviews with a clear, pre-charged feeling towards the show being reviewed, be it for good or bad. Now obviously a little bias is okay in some things, but in most cases it goes too far. Instead, what I'd like to see is a combination of whether or not the reviewer like the show they were talking about, and also whether or not they thought it was good. Because I believe those two things are very different. An example of this is that while I like Seth Macfarlane as a writer and comedian, I actually don't care much for The Cleveland Show. Or that I cannot stand the hockey player Sidney Crosby, but I will say he is very skilled. More often than not, a reviewer will say that since they didn't like a show, it instantly becomes bad, which I'd like to think is not necessarily the case.

One thing I cannot stand about reviews is when they bash something simply because it is popular/over-hyped i.e. Sword Art Online, Naruto, Attack on Titan, etc. There is always that one guy who just has to hate on the popular show at the time, simply because it is popular. They're the person who just hates all things loved. Now, I'm not saying you can't rate the popular shows poorly, but at least give your reasons as to why. I always see "this show doesn't deserve to be popular because it is awful", but never do I see a supporting argument.

Now ironically, this entire post itself is filled with bias, the one thing I say I don't want in a review, so what do I really know? Either way, that's my two cents on it.

I want to see an anime review show that involves 3 or more people (at least one girl). I say this because I'd like different viewpoints. To ask for unbiased reviews in anime is simply asking too much. People like what they like and have their own opinions, which usually differ from mine. Therefore, I'd like to hear a few peoples different opinions and intelligent discussion.
