Rap is so polarizing lol. I feel sorry for those who don't like "turn-up" tracks and dismiss it for being ignorant. You can listen to future, Rae-Srummurd and other trap rappers while also liking kendrick, lupe, wu, etc.

This reminds me, also.....there are some shops in Akiba's Trip that play rap music. The lyrics are English, too. Just seems interesting that a Japanese store would be playing American rap music. And so I wonder.....does this happen in real-life Akihabara? Not saying I have a problem or anything. Though I said I'm not big on rap or hippety-hop, I can come to a compromise since I'm not fanatical about my stance towards it. Who knows? I might even like it.

Damn bruh, a lot of people here seem pretty ignorant about this subject. Rap is a pretty cool genre. There are good and bad artists, just like any other genre. I mean, listen to Immortal Technique or Watsky or somebody that uses a wider vocabulary in their writing.

Immortal has a really good vocabulary but I think R A The Rugged man has him beat.

My personal ratio of good to "bad rap" aka turn-up music is 2 : 1.

Sometimes you wanna sit there and listen to a good lyricist like Kanye, Lupe Fiasco, Scarface, etc.
Sometimes you wanna listen to some grimy shit like Tyler, the Creator, Three 6 Mafia, Cam'Ron, etc.
Sometimes you wanna turn up to some Waka Flocka, Rae Sremurd or Migos.

It's all subjective and comes down to personal preferences.

I never really like rap but I do like the new age rappers like KYLE, LOGIC, and CHILDISH GAMBINO. I also like the other ones like Kendrick, Schoolboy and Drake.

Honestly, how can you not like the bass in those songs? I like to hear depressing and real life issue raps, but "turn-up" songs are literally my favorite.

For people that are fans of lyrics.
Both Lupe Fiasco's and Joey BadA$$ albums drop tomorrow (1/20)
Heard the Lupe leak already.
It''s straight up fire flames and I heard good things about Joey's album too.

If you skip out on rap you're missing out on a load of great songs, rap can express stuff through lyrics that other music just can't, plus it's real easy to zone and groove to it.
Kendrick Lamar, old Kanye West (The College Dropout especially, although I do like Yeezus), and Earl Sweatshirt are great.

I like rap, but most of the new stuff is terrible, like Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan, etc.
