Rap is so polarizing lol. I feel sorry for those who don't like "turn-up" tracks and dismiss it for being ignorant. You can listen to future, Rae-Srummurd and other trap rappers while also liking kendrick, lupe, wu, etc.

My personal ratio of good to "bad rap" aka turn-up music is 2 : 1.

Sometimes you wanna sit there and listen to a good lyricist like Kanye, Lupe Fiasco, Scarface, etc.
Sometimes you wanna listen to some grimy shit like Tyler, the Creator, Three 6 Mafia, Cam'Ron, etc.
Sometimes you wanna turn up to some Waka Flocka, Rae Sremurd or Migos.

It's all subjective and comes down to personal preferences.

More or less this is my attitude towards hip-hop: enjoy both the old school pieces from 90s NYC boom bap, LA "alternative", pre-maintream Southern hip-hop, and quality contemporary emcees like Kendrick Lamar, Joey Badass, Big KRIT, Run The Jewels and underground scene. Technically on a quality level I deplore trap and other ignorant rap, but in the end screw it its fun music to turn up.

I like rap, but most of the new stuff is terrible, like Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan, etc.

I really like rap. Not a big fan of the "money, women" thing, but I get it, it's fun. I appreciate old school hip-hop although I don't really listen to it. In fact, the only current American rappers I listen to are Eminem and Nas.

I'm more into the K-Hip-hop scene. My favorite rapper is Tablo of Epik High. Definitely the rapper with the biggest message although he can be depressing. He can rap in English too so there's that. Other good artists in the Korean Hip-hop scene are Dynamic Duo, Simon Dominic, Zico, Outsider, and the rappers in the idol group BTS.
