I have been watching anime since about 2007, and I've seen over 300 anime, of quite a wide spread. However, until recently, I had never seen Cowboy Bebop. Now, being into anime for any significant length of time means that one will hear a lot about this show, praised by many to be one of the greatest anime of all time. It was impossible to go into this show without bias, but I eventually decided to watch it. Two days ago, on December 30th, I watched the first 15 episodes of the show and finished it the next day, yesterday. I went into it with the intent to watch it as a reviewer, not just casually, but to critically analyze the show. Now, I feel comfortable to say that every accolade and award, every ounce of praise Cowboy Bebop has received over the years is completely deserved. It is one of the best, if not THE best, anime I've ever seen. After the last episode, I sat there for a minute or two in silence.

So, my question to you all is the following: What is/was your experience with the show? How did you watch it and when, both in your life and in your time as an anime fan? What is YOUR Cowboy Bebop?

Choosing the greatest anime of all time is up to personal interpretation but
Cowboy Bebop is more than worthy of being called the greatest anime of all time.

I also rewatched it recently and it still isn't in my top 10. Maybe not even my top 20.

I love the characters. Sympathized with them, disliked their flaws, loved their humanity. I can remember all 3 of the names of the adult characters (Fay, Jet, Spike). Not that the red haired girl played that big or significant a part in it, because she didn't, hell I even remember the name of the dog. It was Ein wasn't it?

I can't remember when exactly I first saw it but I know it was on Adult Swim and still airing new episodes so it was awhile ago.

I still hold it up there as one of my favorite and most highly respected anime (alongside Ghost in the Shell: SAC). I find myself still tuning in to Adult Swim ever so often to rewatch episodes (now that the HD versions are supposedly being added prob going to be doing this not out of habit). I love the music, the characters, and the story (and its structure). This was the role that introduced me to and made me love Steve Blum.

Fav episode: "The Real Folk Blues part 2" (also my favorite music track from the series)

First saw it many years ago on Cartoon Network. Shortly thereafter bought the DVDs.
Fell in love with the music straight off. It was the 1st or 2nd anime I'd seen that cemented the idea in my head that the best Anime has good/great music in it. Bad music will drag down a show, great music can elevate a good show from "yeah I've seen that, to "hell yeah! I own that!"

At the time, downloaded all the soundtrack songs I could find since I couldn't find them on CD. Eventually imported Tank! The Best!, (at the same time as all the Turn-A Gundam CDs. Yes, Yoko Kanno fan too.)
Bought the movie, not torn up that it's not in the box set, but it would have been nice.

Kind of want a Welsh Corgi simply so I can name him Ein.

Bought myself the BluRay/DVD Box set and will be re-watching it.

I have... several CDs in my car that start with Tank! and a few that have either Piano Black or Mushroom hunting worked into the mix.

All that said, I can't stand Julia. Sorry. I just can't.

Oh, and I work with a woman named Faith. In my head, she's FayeFaye (in Ed's voice) whenever I see her.

It's alright. Animation and music are amazing, everything else is debatable. While I do like Bebop I could never care about it all that much seeing how it just lacks focus. I know that is kind of the point, but still, seeing how I was personally bored during a lot of the episodes and even fell asleep one time, just because I did not give a crap about whatever random thing they were focussing on this epsiode, I can not say that this is one of my personal favourites. It has a lot of highs, episode five is still one of the best episodes I have ever seen, but also plenty of lows. Still, it is most definitely a fun ride that I would recommend to pretty much anybody.

Saw it on Adult Swim way back when it first premiered dubbed there in like 2001? Thought it was all right and had a cool vibe at least. Some episodes outshine others for sure. I'm not particularly fond of the characters themselves, and that is my main gripe with the show on the whole. Other than that, I do feel the ending is somewhat rushed relative to the episodic nature of the other episodes, but it is still quite good for what was intended. I greatly prefer the other Sunrise show that premiered the season before Bebop, Outlaw Star, for my Space Western anime adventure.

I have seen it numerous times in reruns over the years since and will likely rewatch it now that FUNi has the remastered video available.

I respect Bebop, but it's not on my favorite's list. I have to admit, more modern animation tends to get my interest.

I saw it for the first time when it originally aired on Adult Swim. Second favorite anime of all time after FLCL. I need to get the remastered version from Funimation one of these days.
