I'm paying everymonth for almost half a year now and just this week is the most horrible state i've seen from this website.
I'm trying to watch Arakawa Under The Bridge yet it keeps failing and I checked my connection and it's fine and all.

Please do try to fix your website soon, I know you recently got hit by the no lifer's squad hackers but do try to make your costumers happy or else they'll leave.

I'm now forced to go to underground sites just to watch it, jeez. I might switch to Funimation in this case.

Don't go crying because something happened that was out of their control. You realize they did better than PSN, right?

If this is the worst it gets, I have to say that the site is doing pretty well.

When something bad happens, people forget the uptime, and how often it never goes down, and just concentrates on what is happening NOW only.

This is a bad way to think. Considering how much CR streams, how often it never goes down for long periods of time, and just the overall quality of the site, you should not blame the site for this 1 incident.

Thanks CR/CR staff for the good work. This is one of the few sites I truly enjoy watching anime on, keep up the good work.

Do you even know what DDOS is? Crunchyroll is a minor problem in comparison to Playstation network so comparing PSN to Crunchyroll is just no no. Second of all, it's been a few days after the attack and things have been going well except that time. I don't believe that it was another DDOS attack till we all get confirmation, it might be the host' problem which is located at San Diego if the error page was right which kept showing up throughout the day yesterday.

There has been plenty of confirmation. Just look at all the other threads or even research yourself. Crunchyroll was hit with a DDoS the strength of the ones that hit PSN. I do know exactly what a DDoS is and I know that Crunchyroll did all they could. Stuff is being fixed now, and quickly, but shit doesn't all come together at once, it takes time to gain full functionality.

I have to say I'm inclined to align with Principe Capio on this one. Figuring out if your site is being hit by a DDoS doesn't take 14+ hours, nor letting your consumers know that they're experiencing DDoS attacks give off any information that the attackers can use. In other sites were DDoS attacks happen they always announce them almost instantly, and even keep their consumer database up to date every hour or so depending on how long the situation is stretching out.

The first actual warning of a DDoS on their Facebook and Twitter was around the 14 hour mark of being down, with only a minor one being done a couple of hours after this supposedly DDoS begun. Further more the CR Staff has been very quiet as far as I'm concerned when trying to let their customers know what's going on. I'm not asking for vital information that might put them at risk, but a simple "hey were's working on this and this now. then moving on to this." or "oh man, this is gonna take a little bit longer to fix so our schedule is beng held back a bit--but no worries we got it guys!" would certainly help paying members feel more at ease.

This is the fourth day now, with little to no updates and actual interactions to show for, not to mention that the error screen shots appearing last night in the wee hours of the morning also seem to align with Capio's earlier mention. I certainly don't want to discredit the CR Staff, or say they aren't doing their job and whatnot, but when you're fully in the dark and not even been thrown a hint of a lifeline there's only so much that positive thinking will hold out before you start to doubt.

There's a line between "this is a DDoS attack" and "this is us jumping the bandwagon of a recent DDoS attack to cover up an internal server or other issue" and I'm sure I'm not the first or the last to think it. Again, I want to assume the best--that the DDoS did happen and CR is doing its best to overcome it as quickly as possible--but what's to say that the other option might not be somewhat accurate as well?

So CR went out and signed up with CloudFlare (known for defending against DDoS attacks) just to make their story more plausible?

Oh, and two other anime-related sites (ANN and SC) also happened to engage the same company for DDoS protection recently by coincidence?:

All the good sites that I know of, have stopped using CloudFlare. There are now ways around CloudFlare's DDOS mitigation.

Like I said, I don't want to think this is a rabbit from a hat trick. But as a premium member that is shelling out real life money for a service, money that I earn by going to work every day, I would definitely appreciate the CR Staff being more vocal about what's going on. I'm not asking for specific information, hell I'm not tech savvy enough to be able to do something useful with that, but constant on the hour or every 3 hours or so updates of the things they are fixing now, etc, would certainly ease my mind and make me believe this is a good investment I'm doing in the end.

Because there's other websites that will stream anime HD for free even, it's just a pain to hunt them down and ensure no virus and stuff get into your computer when CrunchyRoll has everything available in one relatively safe place for a small-ish monthly fee. I'm choosing to pay for something that I could still get for free with just a bit more effort on my part, the least I expect is good communication in order to ensure that the loyalty I'm placing into this company is appreciated.

With that said it's the first time I've seen CR go through something like this, so I will definitely not cancel a subscription over it, but if this becomes a more recurrent thing--along with the lack of communication from the staff except to keep advertising products and whatnot--it might make me reconsider whether to keep a subscription running or not later on in the future.

I'm still willing to bet this is another DDoS attack that is occurring right now. I don't know who's doing it, but whoever the group is, they are gigantic dinks (I'd say worse but that's against forum rules ) for doing this kind of stuff. There is no reason for it.
