Sure, I believe in gods. The idea seems comforting, so why not?
It's not really a choice to believe or not though, so the answer to the "why not" is "because I don't believe in Gods".

(And when I say that the idea seems comforting, I mean that the idea seems comforting. I certainly don't expect the gods themselves to be overly accommodating or comforting.)
I really don't get how anyone can find that thought comforting. To me it sounds very creepy and horrifying that some being is constantly watching our every move like our world is some little antfarm for it's pleasure. Nonexistant privacy and a total surveillance society. It's creepy and sends shiver down my spine.

Sorry, but you seem to be mistaking me for a member of one of the monotheistic, "our-god-runs-everything" crowd. My gods don't bother with all that. And I do believe, so please don't tell me that I don't. That's just rude.

No, I don't believe in any god. I follow science, not mythology. My family believes in the Christian god, and my dad is even a minister. I, however, found science to be far more believable and trustworthy.

Holo sums up my belief:

"Really? One true god did everything, and the humans are merely borrowing it? Nature is not a thing which can be created by someone." (Season 1, Episode 2)

The karma system just states that people retaliate to negative attacks. there is no one controlling that phenomena.

no i don't believe in god(s).
the karma system includes every karma/work. it's just that we're much more concerned with reactions to negative works.

I do. Thanks to the internet, I often go around thinking a little more deeply about it. I'm Christian, but I'm open to the idea that other religions could be just as believable (because I'm not sure "right" is a the best word). Whether someone believes in a god, or gods shouldn't really concern other people though, as long as they don't do stupid shit.

I believe in God (Christian)
I believe in two simple rules being:
1) Love God
2) Love people. [ All people, no matter their religious/non-religious belief, lifestyle choices, ect ]
I do not believe it's the right of a Christian to judge or condemn any one who is a non-(Christian)believer, and that is something that I firmly believe is written within the context of the Bible ( more specifically in the New-Testament).
Yes there are things that the Bible writes as sin, that are very acceptable to the world-view of non-believers(using this term just to identify those who do not believe in Christianity); but with that said again it is NOT my right or responsibility to judge or condemn others for it. ie: "pray the gay away" that is stupid and I personally find un-biblical. My only right or privilege is to be kind and compassionate to all peoples equally. To show the Love of Christ, BUT also to not warp my own personal/religious convictions to appease others (hopefully that makes sense).
I (surprise) believe in science, but how I define science is as a way to investigate , and measure, and figure out the natural (tangible) world. Also in my belief in science. I am a firm believer in solid 100% absolutes, in regards to facts and findings. yes there are speculation, theories and hypothesis, and I respect them all and hope to never disregard or mock any of it; but if there is any room for error. If there is only speculation, or guessing, or assumptions in the facts or evidence found within science, then they will stay just as they are. If with all of that I believe it to be a Fact (100% absolute) even with room for error or not enough supporting evidence to be absolute than that is just me having FAITH in it.

That's what it all boil's down to really. We all have Faith in what ever we believe. Thank you for the forum.

I don't doubt that you believe. I never said that you didn't believe. What I do doubt is that it is a CHOICE involved in that. I have never been able to choose what to believe and not to believe. That's just not how it works.
