I'm terrible at conversing in person. I can't talk and listen to other people and think all at once, so if I want to be anywhere approaching articulate, I have to take awkward pauses before I speak, which sounds fine on paper, but usually results in the other person just continuing their thought before I can contribute anything, and when I do speak, I often won't be able to find a particular word I'm looking for (and I'm certainly not going to use a different, less appropriate one), so I end up clamming up while I try to force it to mind.

My written communication skills are much better. Given the proper time to consider what I want to say, I can make sure my thoughts are coherent, and usually have the time I need to find those fleeting words (or at least rephrase my sentence so as to hold the same meaning, even if the result isn't quite as smooth as I'd hoped) - and I can always look something up if I really need to. I'm far more confident in my communication skills when I'm facing a keyboard, rather than another human being, as sad as that may be.

I suck at conversing with people in real life, but that's just because I hate everybody. Online, I still hate most people but it's slightly easier if I HAVE to talk to them as I can take my sweet time to reply or simply stop talking, close the chat window, ignore them and blame it on internet connectivity.

I'm decent at asynchronous online communication, since it gives me time to figure out what I want to say/how to say it. I'm okay with more synchronous types of communication like IM, though I still tend to have awkwardly long pauses there. I can be pretty terrible at conversation in person though, because I can't process it/come up with a response quickly enough.

I'm the complete opposite, I'm much better at keeping a conversation online than in person

I'm alright at keeping conversations going online. However, I find it hard to respond when people answer back with one word answers.

I suck at both.

Offline; I can talk about anything and everything, I don't run out of things to say. But, I don't think about what I'm going to say before I say it so I upset and annoy a lot of people and I have the tendency to change words in the middle of speaking so I don't make any sense. I also mumble half the time so people don't even hear what I'm saying.

Online; I actually make sense and get to think about what I write before I send it , I just don't know what to talk about so I may come off as boring.

I thought Conversation Online was a social MMO of sorts, like Club Penguin or Habbo.

I probably suck online more, I run out of shit to say, and forget to reply back.

Real life I can get away with a bunch of shit, mostly because I can get more across with fewer words, just because of inflections and body language.

Online you have to over explain and analyze, because it's so much more limiting.

You have to write things with much more impact.

IRL
You can say nothing, remain quiet, do funny gestures and it's the same as if you said a joke. Combine the two and it has more of an impact.

It's pretty much why we enjoy anime imo

I'm better at talking to people in real life. Since I'm easily pissed off about things, I could just rant about what's going on around me lol. Online, I tend to forget to reply, and I never have anything good to say.

I'm good in online conversations. Not as good in real life. There are times I tend to have trouble having an actual conversation with that particular person. Knowing me, I don't really like people in general. But I show kindness and how friendly I can be.
