When I first started hanging out online, maybe about 15 years ago, I felt really awkward at first. Although games were easy to chat in, due to mostly trash talking, chat rooms and message boards weren't as comfortable, as I had yet to understand online etiquette. Eventually, you get used to it. As with anything, it takes practice and experience, and eventually you'll be moderating your own message boards. Keep at it!!

I think I am worse. Detecting tone or body language is a big part of my skills for talking. A sarcasm font is not universally accepted on websites, ect --- much is lost in speaking through the digital ocean.

Also, I can speak very passionately about my interests in person. People say I am great at recommending games/anime --- I should go into panel work at conventions. You'd never get that impression off someone from chatting in a guest book. There isn't much ways to add energy into conversation, at least for me.

So, I'm probably bad.

It's a mixed bag really. I can talk better with friends either in person or with VoIP since I know them well and I can read facial expression and add in voice inflection but as far as random people go I'm much better with online text.

If we're talking sexual conversation I'll give a De-rection

Idk, I'm pretty casual in general about conversations.

I can only strike a conversation while at work lol. There's more enthusiasm in person than online.

So so, online comes in very handy when I've got sore throats and I've had a lot this last year.

I'm fairly decent at both online and offline conversation especially if it's a subject that I take an interest in or i'm discussing project plans for my youtube channel with my mate/co-founder.

When I decide to talk online, I'm usually the one who talks too much . I've also noticed that my way of talking in online forums and chats can sometimes be a bit...crazy. I can't have a serious conversation with an online friend at all, which is probably a good thing because I hate talking about serious stuff.

(I wish I was as good at talking "in real life" as when I'm online.)

For some reason, I have a better experience conversing with people outside of the Internet. I can be pretty shy online, so it's difficult for me to talk to people. I had the ability, but I lost it over the few years. I never know who will talk to me, so it's a nervous time for me!

More or less, though my speech style occasionally lands me in hot water. I'm really good at unintentionally sounding uppity and annoyed. It's likely because of my unnecessarily-formal wording coupling with a contrasting mixture of frankness and diplomacy. I try and restrain my bluntness with the latter (to help avert misunderstandings), but I end up sounding all the more waspish, or something. It doesn't help that I'm less emotional in online conversations, too.

I'm arguably better offline, but I'm also more temperamental.
